1941 - 7/10
2010 - 6/10
I like a lot of stuff about the 2010 version (cinematography, sets, costumes, score), but it has some things that hold it back from fully working. Too much CGI and I don't care for the writing of the Anthony Hopkins character.

The issue is, I didn't care about the characters at all and it isn't very suspenseful, interesting or dramatic. You know my thoughts on Joe Johnson as a director, and this is one of his most uninspired movies imo.

Was I the only one who preferred the remake? Yup, your the only one in the world who prefers the remake. It is very obvious based on the 12 people who voted. If only we based every conclusion on the .00000000000000000000000001%.

SON OF A BITCH!!! I'm glad you took that with good humor. I can understand why someone might prefer the remake. It personally just left me completely indifferent. I even watched it before seeing the original.

It was a funny post. I don’t dislike the original. I can see why people like it, but I got more out of the remake honestly.

2010 - Del Toro was an inspired casting choice and the production design is decent.
1941 as usual is dated. Not my cup of tea.

I went to the cinema to see it and was excited for it.

I am among the very few who prefer the newer version.
I was bored by the original. I am usually a great fan of Lon Chaney jr. and Claude Rains, but they were both given nothing to do. The horror elements also did not move me.
The newer version is over-the-top crazy, which was at least entertaining when I was watching it.
I think Werewolf of London, Universal's first werewolf movie, is better than The Wolf Man too. It also has a werewolf-on-werewolf fight in the climax, which I think inspired the remake's climax as well.

1941, no contest. The best horror flick of the 40s and leagues ahead of the 2010 film.
