Nope. Dad's a Swans fan, I'm a magpies supporter. Swans are the closest thing to a local team so I do like to see them be successful. Dad doesn't watch Rugby League at all, I was a Dragons member multiple times when I lived in Sydney and still support them now.
With cricket we both follow Sydney teams in the BBL, NSW in state cricket and Australia in internationals, but that's a parochial thing.

Bob will be happy with your pick. Don't really have an EPL team. Newcastle maybe because they have a similar strip to Collingwood. I do support Barnsley who are in the Championship a tier below the EPL. My father is much more of a baseball fan than I am, though we both root for the Red Sox. We're both football fans, though I'm a Pats fan and his favorite team is probably Denver, which is my second favorite team. He came around on the Pats this past decade, I don't think he's a hardcore fan though. He doesn't watch hockey and he hates basketball, so I'm on my own there.
My mother is a casual Red Sox fan, I don't think she pays attention to any other sports.

No idea why I started going for the then Balmain, now Wests Tigers. One of my uncles did, but I don’t think that’s why. My Dad supports Penrith and my Mum North Sydney.
I chose the Sabres and Chargers independent of any family members, almost all of which have no interest in American Sports at all.
I’ve told the story before about how I came to support Manchester United - I wasn’t allowed to support anyone who someone already supported that gathered around a TV and VCR on a Tuesday afternoon if I was to watch. As a little kid. I picked Man Utd because I liked their socks. Seriously.

One of my best friends was a huge Yankee fan. He has the "Hat on the Bat" logo tattooed over his heart. When his son was born nine years ago, I teased him about his "future Red Sox fan". Sure enough, he's a Red Sox fan. And I'm to blame. "You put that shit in his head when he was a baby"

they had a big party for all the senators season ticket holders at the golf club my dad's family belonged to; he said ted and a bunch of the guys got drunk and went outside and were hitting golf balls with baseball bats.

My parents ending up liking the teams that I liked while I was in the house. After I left, only the Steelers and Penn State remained (although that's true for me too - - I've changed my fandom in all the other sports since I was 18). I brought them to sports rather than the other way around.
