A war film that always had a bit of a cult status. A "trendy" war film with Richard Basehart.
It's a war film that has a plot about a reluctant soldier (makes sense) who is reluctant to take command when the time comes.
But moreover, it's a film with "notable scenes". The scene of running feet to prevent frostbite. The scene of all white snow where the soldiers don't see the movement of Korean soldiers sneaking up on them. The scene of the soldiers speaking in their minds with the comic relief soldier ending up with the socks.
It's the "scenes" that this movie was always about. And that doesn't change. It was always a 7/10 film to me, and still is.
