Yeah, but didn’t the remake get the same response? We all know how that turned out.

nonononono... only 64% doesnt look great... Its at 63% now and it will go lower. Its everything I feared Ghostbusters Afterlife would be. I am so disappointed Ghostbusters Afterlife just as much as I was with the Female Ghostbusters movie.

I am so disappointed Ghostbusters Afterlife just as much as I was with the Female Ghostbusters movie. It better not. The ones who are rating it so low are the ones who enjoyed the remake. The media will go after the low score and say “look nobody likes Afterlife. They want the 2016 Ghostbusters back.” When that isn’t the case. HELL NO ONE likes the remake. That’s how the media is gonna see it though even though it’s not true.

Agreed along with giving the shitty Disney Star Wars movies like Force Awaken positive reviews yet it did the same thing that Ghostbusters Afterlife is doing. All in all. I am pissed off as a Ghostbusters fans as I have movies, comic books and cartoons in my possession. The fact nobody could have gotten this franchise right on the big screen upsets me. Another reason why I will NEVER paid to see anymore movie during this awful decade.

HELL NO ONE likes the remake. #1. It's not a remake, it's a reboot. Have people forgotten what a remake and reboot are? They're not the same thing. #2. I like the 2016 film.

I am more interested to see that over Afterlife. Something tells me it will be a fun movie that will try to do its best to capture the spirit of the first movie and the other matrix movies while also trying its best to be original in its own way. I predict it will do better in reviews and such over Afterlife.

It wasn't that good of a movie. Just copied off of the original film. Wasn't that funny and the ending felt tacked on.

It wasn't that good of a movie. Just copied off of the original film. Wasn't that funny and the ending felt tacked on. I pretty much felt the same way when I saw on stream. Its just a rehash of the first movie and I mean mostly everything about it and the jokes are just empty. I wouldn't say it was bad movie but it wasn't great either. Uber Hardcore Ghostbusters fans I know are going to lash out anyone that says this and are becoming worst then Star Wars fans that once defended Disney Star Wars movies. But I am not surprised. The standard is so low that many would accept anything that is throw at them and that tied to the first Ghostbusters movie. Ghostbusters Afterlife right along with Disney Star Wars movies is a prime example of how you do fan servicing the wrong way. Cobra Kai is going be the king of how you handle fan servicing the right way while also being uniquely original at the same time. Ghostbusters Afterlife is not original at all and gives nothing new that hasn't been seen already. I will give credit where credit is due. It did have an emotional ending but yeah the movie was so predictable and the trailers gave so much away. I glad I saw it on stream instead of at the movies. I will have been even more disappointed. Hopefully the sequels will be better and they use material from cartoons and comic books next time to use cool villains and such for the next movie.

A lesson to be learned here is that being too respectful to a popular film is just as bad, if not more so, as being disrespectful to it.

A lesson to be learned here is that being too respectful to a popular film is just as bad, if not more so, as being disrespectful to it. Pretty much. This movie leans to heavily on the first movie that its insulting as it somehow forgot what made the first movie great and that is being original. Of course uber hardcore Ghostbusters won't see it that way because their standards are so low that they just want anything to be better then the female Ghostbuster movie. Its better then the female ghostbusters movie in terms of respecting the original movies. Yet, this movie doesn't even come close to holding a candle to the first two Ghostbusters movies, the Ghostbusters 2009 Video Game, Real Ghostbusters cartoons and even the IDW Ghostbusters comic books which were holding things down for the franchise since 2010. I am a fan of Ghostbusters but I NEVER allow myself to be blinded by nostalgia. Its why I was the black sheep among Punisher fans when it comes to reviewing the 3 Punisher movies, Star Wars fans in regards to the Disney Star Wars movie and now Ghostbusters. I saw the movie on stream last night and its just a rehash of the first movie nothing more. Do not go in expecting anything new or original as you will not get it. Don't go in hoping you will see the OG Ghostbusters play a big part or you will be disappointed. Its not a great movie but its not bad either. Its a fair one that is flawed but the ending is heavily emotional but that is it. The jokes are mostly flat and most of the time it appears it is having an identity crisis while the original Ghostbusters movies and other Ghostbusters source material don't seem to have this problem. They had way better stories to tell, way better characterizations, villains, jokes, actions and more originality in design. This movie was too heavy in the fan service of the first movie while offering nothing new or original when it should have. Hopefully the sequels will be better then this movie and the writers should take notes from Cobra Kai writers at they knew how to careful craft fan servicing the right way while also being original in design. Something tells me Cobra Kai will be the king of how you handle and relieve an 80s franchise the right way. But it helps that Hollywood writers didn't get to fully sink their crawls into the franchise and the writers are very skilled. The next Ghostbusters sequel should take content from the Ghostbusters video game, Real Ghsotbusters cartoons and IDW Ghostbusters comic books as it would give the writers more stuff work with.
