Okay, years ago (and about 5 moves ago), I read most of a book and never got to finish and lost my copy of it. I cannot, for the life of me, recall the name of the book or the author. I remember the main character, I remember a few scenes from the book, and I know there was at least one sequel cause there was a mention of it being a series. HELP!
~The title, I think, had something to do with music and dragons (Dragon Song, The Song of a Dragonrider, etc.) ~The main protagonist was a woman who was exceptionally tall and muscular, and this was something she was ridiculed for in her homeland ~She dreamed of dragons ~She ends up doing some sailing with a group, and ends up encountering a dragon ~There is a scene between she and the Dragon, where she has to explain to him that when she 'shows her teeth' it is a sign of happiness, not a threatening posture. He tells her that her 'smiling' looks threatening, and he blows smoke at her, then has to explain he is 'smiling'. ~The dragons, back in the day, had the ability to shift into a more human form and, it sounded like this dragon would re-discover this ability and appear as a human male in the sequel ~I remember reading this book before 2010, but I couldn't nail down the exact year, cause I had it in a house I lived in from the mid-90s till 2010 but I buy secondhand books so it could've been published in the 80s.
HELP?? Does anyone know what book this is? Or at least what series or author this might have been from?
Thanks!
