...Robert Englund was in it? I know he's 74, but with the makeup and prosthetics it probably wouldn't really matter. Dunno what they could make it about this time (Freddy vs Pinhead?). With Craven dead, not sure who I'd want to direct, maybe Sam Raimi?

Maybe. I think he could still do it, he'd be heavily made up and all.

Craven originally envisioned Freddy as an old man, so Englund was actually always younger than the role called for until now.
Would I watch it? Fuck yeah I would. I'd love if someone like Ari Aster came in and made Freddy and tne concept creepy again. Keep him in the shadows (which comes with the bonus of not throwing Englund's hip out on a zany stunt). Keep the plot simple. Maybe Freddy is haunting the children of teens who grew up in the 80s or something.

I think the director of Mandy would be a great choice to direct. Of course I'd watch it. Not sure what they would do with it. I'm sure a lot of people would like a movie that pretends Freddy's Dead never happened.

In any case I think I would still prefer Raimi, I love his Evil Dead films. Also wasn't Freddy vs Jason more or less a sequel to Freddy's Dead?

His last impressive effort was Spider-Man 2 imo. I have my fingers crossed for Doctor Strange 2 though. I guess Freddy vs. Jason was a sequel to Freddy's Dead. Ignore that too. Ignore part 5 too.
