Last Jedi because it completely fucked up the story. Fallen Kingdom promised nothing but dinosaur action and despite many stupid parts mostly delivered

Fallen Kingdom is worse. The first half of this movie is rough going, but luckily it gets a lot better in the second half.

While TLJ was nothing more than one slow moving convoy of ships being 'chased' by an even slower one, JPFK wasn't only that boring, it was offensively stupid.

TLJ - 6/10 JW: FK - 3/10
The first half of FK is some of the worst blockbuster writing/acting I’ve ever seen.

Nothing like comparing a pile of crap to a puddle of vomit. I'd have to say The Last Jedi was the worse of the two, but that's not in any way a compliment to Fallen Kingdom.

What about Superman IV vs Jaws: The Revenge? That one is easier, Jaws: The Revenge is in the bottom five movies I've ever seen. To be honest, I actually sort of like Superman IV though admittedly it's not a good movie. But it does have individual scenes that try to re-capture the magic of the original, and Gene Hackman automatically makes any movie better just by his presence. In my mind, Superman III is the worst of that era of Superman movies.

The junkyard fight sequence.

Nothing like comparing a pile of crap to a puddle of vomit. I'd have to say The Last Jedi was the worse of the two, but that's not in any way a compliment to Fallen Kingdom. The Last Jedi is trying to be a serious all important film with deep “themes” and a continuation of the established canon. It fails miserably on all those fronts. FK has no ambition other than to be a dumb action film where people are running away from dinosaurs. TLj aims higher and it falls lower. That’s why it’s worse

Also, I appreciate the novelty of the haunted house setting in Fallen Kingdom more than anything from The Last Jedi.

Let it be made clear that screwing up Star Wars is worlds worse a cinematic crime than screwing up Jurassic Park. Why is that? Because while it can tackle complex themes here and there at the end of the day Jurassic Park is a franchise that sells itself on spectacle; the thought of dinosaurs in contemporary times is enough to engage the imagination and bring out your inner child. The bar is higher than some other franchises that also sell on spectacle because Steven Spielberg directed the visual scope of the original in a more smartly way which was immersive and brought upon many different emotions in a balanced way, so the standard all sequels must try to live up to is the very first one. However, at the end of it all, it is popcorn movie fare and not much else. Star Wars however is an institution that is strongly attached to the culture that was inspired by generations of folklore and mythology which in turn inspired generations of storytellers and artists alike. It is anything but another big budget franchise, and if you drop the ball hard on it do not be surprised if there is any blowback. With that said The Last Jedi is easily the worst of the two because of the very reasons given by janntosh, the only people I have seen that actually like it are the ones who generally think little of Star Wars or are casual fans who could give or take staying true to the mythology and its characters, or are just Rian Johnson fans.

If Fallen Kingdom is a McDonalds big mac you know that while it will not be the best thing for you you understand what you are getting once you buy it and take a bite out of it. By comparison, The Last Jedi is a dish at a non-fast food restaurant that tries to sell itself as something healthier but is actually not very good for you and makes you feel bloated or causes an acid reflux. Of the two wouldn't you say the latter is worse than the former because of false advertising?

I’ve seen both of these and have forgotten most of everything about them. That’s pretty sad.
