Flaws aside, I like The Last Jedi. Haven't seen Fallen Kingdom.

TLJ - 6/10 JW: FK - 3/10 The first half of FK is some of the worst blockbuster writing/acting I’ve ever seen.I kind of love the second half, but the first half is near terrible. The movie gave me whiplash.

The Last Jedi is easily the worst of the two because of the very reasons given by janntosh , the only people I have seen that actually like it are the ones who generally think little of Star Wars or are casual fans who could give or take staying true to the mythology and its characters, or are just Rian Johnson fans. I'm none of the things you describe but still consider The Last Jedi as the best of a bad bunch (Star Wars sequels that is, I haven't seen Fallen Kingdom).

Judge waxed so poetically before ending his post by assuming the motivations of everyone who liked TLJ and implying they aren't true Star Wars fans. I love Star Wars. I wrote an article that got published about Star Wars. I didn't particularly care about Rian Johnson until after his involvement with Star Wars. And yet some way, somehow, I actually like TLJ.

That's fine, I could see why as the trilogy as a whole is a mess.

So you've gone from No True Scotsman, to lying about it, to doubling down on No True Scotsman. Do you realize how childish you sound?

So you've gone from No True Scotsman, to lying about it, to doubling down on No True Scotsman. Do you realize how childish you sound? My, it looks like I have hurt someone's feelings. First you accuse me of generalizing everyone who liked The Last Jedi into a singular clique(Which I did not), then you accuse me of neglecting your fanaticism to Star Wars as a whole(How the heck was I supposed to know you wrote an article about it that was published? You never shared that information before in prior discussion). I will clarify - You can still be a fan of Star Wars but give or take how it goes about its mythology, which appears to be the case with regard to some of those that I have seen show strong appreciation towards The Last Jedi. The film pretty much takes a leak on Luke Skywalker's character and the force and the mental gymnastics it takes to accept all as organic and welcoming is no easy feat for a hardcore fan of the brand, one who is more willing to let whatever slide by will be satisfied as long as it feels well-done on a filmmaking standpoint.

The Jurassic Park series has been garbage since the third one. Star Wars actually had a chance to be a culturally significant landmark series again and they totally blew it. Both movies are garbage, but TLJ is worse because it could have potentially been something special.

Last Jedi was the worst. There is no way in canon that Luke Skywalker would abandon the Jedi or try to kill one of his students. Making him a chickensh*t hermit who milks cows to get his sustenance like a loser is a crime that should be charged with public shaming of Rian Johnson. Its bad fan fiction!

As much as I’ve grown indifferent at best towards TLJ, FK is the worse movie.

The fact that you didn't know that I wrote one is why you shouldn't do what you've been doing in this thread up until your little clarification there - which is still you treating your personal view of what SW should be as the one true objective, but hey, at least it's slightly less gatekeep-y. Fun fact: the article I wrote was a defense of certain elements of the SW prequels, one of which was the non-accidental portrayal of the Jedi as a rather shitty dogma that fell in part due to its own hubris. This was three years before TLJ came out, mind you. Isn't it confirmed that Lucas wanted to do basically the same thing with Luke as TLJ did? This would appear to give people who liked TLJ the upper hand in a pissing match over who's a bigger SW fan and understands the mythology better, yet if someone hears out my "mental gymnastics" and still doesn't like Luke's portrayal, I tend to just accept that.

Fallen Kingdom.
It was fine, just lackluster. Star Wars is a better backdrop for things.
I've never been high on Jurassic Park, anyways. They're good movies but none of them have re watch value for me, even the first one.

Easy pick. "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" is one of the 100 worst movies ever made.
"The Last Jedi" was a bit in between. Not that good, but nowhere near as irritating as Jurassic World. And really, the only reason "Last Jedi" seems so bad is because it was sandwiched between what were obviously the two greatest and most classic of the Star Wars films. A hundred years from now, "Rise of Skywalker" will still be a classic.
Thus, "Last Jedi" will be regarded fairly high since it is part of the best trilogy of the Star Wars series.
There's no way to salvage Jurassic World.
