My league has its draft today. I feel pretty unprepared having not done much in the way of research for once - but I just want to have fun with it this year. Pick players I like and let loose.

My main draft is today as well. 28th year in this league. I've got the number one overall pick. Wish I could trade out of that - - I like the first round depth this year.

I had the first overall pick for the second year in a row (random draft order). Needless to say, I took CMC. I’ve now had him on my team for three straight seasons. Will post my full roster later - but I benefited from the Dobbins news. Got Gus. |

The league that I'm drafting in today has no points for receptions and you don't get points for every yard, just at certain benchmarks, starting at 75 yards (and you don't add rushing and receiving yards together). Haven't decided yet if I'm going to draft Derrick Henry or Dalvin Cook #1.

Last year, I was a more proactive team owner, seeking trades more often than being asked to consider them. I was richly rewarded with a consolation bracket. I did finish fifth, though.

So once again, first overall pick in a league which is EXTREMELY standard - - teams win scoring 50 total points in this league alll the time (no points for receptions, no points except at certain yardage marks, etc).
QBs: Allen, Fields
RBs: Henry, Javonte Williams, Michel, Ingram, Penny.
WRs: Julio Jones, Higgins, Aiyuk, Fuller, Corey Davis, Ruggs.
TE: Waller
K: Prater
D: Patriots
Got the second quarterback off the board with Allen and the second tight end off the board with Waller - - but that meant I was going to be left with only one RB or WR going into round six (and the end of round six at that). So I'm going to need Williams to get that Denver job sooner rather than later and have the sophomore WRs (Higgins, Aiyuk, and Ruggs) keep ascending. I'm hoping Fields becomes a rookie sensation so I can perhaps trade him for an RB down the road.

He's not vaccinated either, though. Currently on the COVID list as a close contact.  I feel like COVID will definitely be an issue for Lamar at some point this year. If Wentzy sucks (it's possible) I'll grab Jameis or Lance or Darnold or whoever's available. Edit: About Pittman - hard to say if I'm being a homer or not but I think he can take a leap this year. Hilton is going to miss time (will probably be a recurring theme with his age) and receivers will need to step up. Main guy could be Pascal (best receiver last year), Campbell, or Pittman.

I overlooked (maybe??) Wentz. Is that based on anything other than hope? From analysts that I've seen Pittman came on late last year and are expecting that "2nd year jump". With TY hurt and honestly on the old side I would expect Pittman to be WR1 and an upgrade on what Wentz had last year but Wentz is making me nervous in regards to Pittman's value. I haven't done a ton of research yet this year but he is one of 4 players I am looking to potentially target. |
