THE WILD WILD WEST - The Night of the Plague - Jim is tracking bandits-kidnappers unaware that they have contracted an Asian disease that kills after 3 days. Artie has to find him to administer the antidote. Decent episode that concludes my viewing of the series.
MANNIX - Only Giants Can Play-- would-be blackmailer is killed and suspicion calls on is would-be victim-a politician (John Dehner). Fox Mulder's father is his lawyer. Trust no one Joe!
KOLCHAK - THE NIGHT STALKER -- Firefall - A doppelganger ghost is burning people to death so he can takeover a music conductor and Kolchak becomes a target. Premiered 50 years ago tonight.

KOJAK - A Souvenir From Atlantic City -- A man survives a bomb attack that kills two cops and Kojak has to track him down. At one point he has to bribe a child with lollipops to get information from her. Premiered 50 years ago tonight.
McMILLAN & WIFE - Buried Alive - A former spy who worked with Mac is killed and he has to uncover the mystery while Sally runs around despite being visibly pregnant. Part of it is shot on the Airport 75 set. Premiered 50 years ago today and coincidentally, so did Susan Saint James' daughter. Now that's timing.

I didn't know that you had the TV movies. I'm glad the train hasn't quite reached the end of the line yet.

MANNIX Shadow of a Man -Mannix is shot at by someone who excuses himself by saying he has a plate in his head from an old war wound. But is that the whole story? Many twists in this one.
KOLCHAK- THE NIGHT STALKER - The Devil's Platform - A politician named Robert Palmer has a pact with Satan.
Kolchak: "What don't you like about this hat?"
Vincenzo: "What's under it."
Premiered 50 years ago tonight.

KOJAK - A Killing In The Second House-- a wealthy guy hires disgraced cop Martin Balsam to investigate his wife and gets pictures of her in public with his financial adviser and misinterprets them as an illicit affair. He kills himself as they arrive home and Balsam ends up suggesting that they make the suicide look like a burglary so the widow can collect the insurance. Kojak is suspicious of his former detective associate and his wife who does astrological readings. Trouble unfolds when a horoscope client goes crazy and risks ruining their alibi. Dramatic finale.
Premiered 50 years ago today.
McCLOUD- The 42nd Street Cavalry - McCloud is assigned to the mounted police training school which soon gets involved in a weapon robbery from a National Guard depot. George Murdock who I saw in Earthquake a night ago plays the instructor of the school.
Bert Freed, who was Columbo before Peter Falk, portrays a fence. The captain in charge of the mounted police is Mark Richman, who spends a lot of time with JD Cannon and when alone, the latter asks "whose idea was this-I promise it won't leave this room." When Richman says "McCloud's," Cannon gives him a drink and says "welcome to the club." The in-joke is that Richman was Chief Clifford in the McCloud pilot movie.
Premiered 50 years ago tonight.

MANNIX - The Girl Who Came in With the Tide -- a body found on the beach leads to a lawyer (Lloyd Bochner) who had caused Mannix to lose his license and he senses he can get payback by linking the lawyer to the murder. But then he meets the widow (Nancy Kovack) of the lawyer's client and her affections make him forget to consider her a suspect. She has very prominent eye makeup as was the trend of the time--but when she gets poisoned, suddenly she has no eye makeup and boy does she look different. Then she gets better and has more eye makeup but not quite as much as earlier. Just something I noticed.
CANNON-- Arena of Fear - A boxer (Nick Nolte) seems to kill a drunk boxer in a bar fight and his manager (John Marley) covers it up. Cannon investigates (we actually see him in a gym getting some exercise).
ROCKFORD FILES - Profit and Loss --a 2-parter where Rocky helps him on the case quite a lot. It starts with a blocked garbage disposal in Rockford's trailer and the story weaves all over the place and ultimately ends with the solution for what was blocking it.
"You're turning into a big disappointment for me. Don't you ever think about anyone but yourself?"
Jim Rockford: "No. Well, yeah, sometimes at Christmas."

KOJAK - The Best War in Town -- rookie cop stumbles upon and prevents an attempted mob assassination. Kojak and David Doyle (spelled Davvid in the opening credits--what a blunder) seek to track down the various mob personnel and arrest them as they grow desperate. Premiered 50 yars ago today.
McCLOUD - The Concrete Jungle Caper -- McCloud does a fair bit of globetrotting (from France to Beirut to somewhere else I forgot--all through the wonders of stock footage and back lot set decoration--you can easily tell when they are in France since a few extras are carrying french bread). He has to track down a drug dealer who dresses like him but has an eye patch. The criminal's partner is Angel Tompkins who survives a helicopter crash and makes off with one million that the New York police department is responsible for, just as Chief Clifford is trying to cut back on department expenses. Not only does McCloud pose as a drug dealer, but he goes to prison (and gets acid thrown in his eye!) in order to trick John Marley and Joseph Campanella into making a deal that will lure out their father (Victor Jory) while another drug dealer (Brock Peters) is trying to cut in on their deal. And Teri Garr (requiescat in pace) is an undercover cop posing as a go-go dancer. The funniest scene is when Clifford comes in wearing a hard hat and she flirts to keep her cover and embarrass him. I am surprised this was only 70 minutes long because it sure was packed with a lot of content. Premiered 50 years ago today.
