Straight guys can pull off pink and make it macho nonetheless, like the iconic ring gear of Bret the Hitman Hart. I wouldn't wear it though because I always found it a womans colour, and women look very feminine in it. Um...maybe it's just how it shows up on my monitor, but the color of that flamboyant costume looks more lavender or orchid. But then, being a basically straight woman (and thus more finicky than most basically straight guys about shades and tints), maybe it's just me.

I simply dislike the colour pink and find it unattractive on both men AND women.

Sports teams that I am aware of, none of them have pink in their uniforms- even in the women's professional sports leagues. One earlier comment mentioned purple being associated with femininity, but off the top of my head, the Baltimore Ravens and Minnesota Vikings in the NFL, the NHL's L.A. Kings, and of course, the L.A. Lakers primarily have purple in their uniforms.

My father never really saw it as a gender thing. He thinks, in his own words, that only babies or little kids like pink.

I don't really know but I think it boils down that many people are insecure which brings out negative emotions, it also makes them like or hate random things based on stereotypes. My dad used to say that a man does whatever he wants, not what other men want. It seems there are many people who want to do what they want but also want everyone to like and approve and that's unrealistic. You either move with the herd or ignore the herd.

With cultural icons like the Purple People Eaters and cultural milestones like Prince's anthem 'Purple Rain', it seems like Minnesota has become synonymous with the colour purple.

At first glance I thought that was a K Pop music video.

Jake Gyllenhaal wore pink recently to the Tony Awards where he was nominated in the Best Actor category for his work in 'Sea Wall / A Life', as well as the Best Producer category for work done with Nine Stories Productions which he co-founded in 2015.

Pink is just a weak, lame version of red. I can stand to look at it in nature but not in fashion.
