Blade just by a hair. I like the story a bit better and Stephen Dorff was good as the main bad guy.

Blade - 7/10 Blade II - 6.5/10
I think the writing and directing is much more interesting in the first movie, however, I do think Blade II is more visually interesting, has better action scenes and much better cgi. The villains in Blade II leave a lot to be desired and it lacks the emotional core and creepy factor of the original. I have never been much of a Steven Dorff fan, but he is perfect in Blade. There are many memorable moments in the first movie and not many in the second. The Blood bath rave party/Blade introduction alone is more satisfying than the entirety of Blade II.
Guillermo Del Toro's best comic book movie is Hellboy II: The Golden Army imo.
