One is Karel Capek's "RUR", best known for bringing the word "robot" to the world. The other is "We", by Russian author Yevgeny Zamyatin, a precursor of sorts to George Orwell's "1984". Coincidentally, it was just a few days ago that I first heard of the latter, and ended up buying the e-book.

That was a fascinating article , Jep . You can see where the idea of Doctor Who might have had
it's roots . And how Yevgeny Zamyatin's 'W e' may have influenced Terry Gilliam's Brazil (1984)
and Drake Doremus's Equals (2016). A Russian movie of We is being released later this year .
