I was involved in a rubber band battle at work once. That’s the sort of thing that happens after the bosses go home.

I can't recall having been hit. So, if it has happened, it wasn't very painful or, otherwise, traumatic.
However, when I had my kitty, she loved to play "rubber band." It was the feline version of "fetch." I'd shoot them down the hall, and she'd retrieve them for another go.
