Your Fave Dean Martin Matt Helm movie...and Why?

The fourth and final instalment in the Matt Helm series. A film that definitely falls in the category of it's "so bad it's good". An obvious attempt at doing Bond, it's no more than a craggy man in his late 50s looking like a craggy man in his late 50s, leching over women old enough to be his grand daughter. Lots of shots focusing on on the female posterior, bad guys who shoot badly, good guys that shoot expertly, a stunt man who has a better wig than the lead he stands in for, Chuck Norris in his debut (it was downhill from here as far as I'm concerned) being beaten by Martin's Kung-Faux moves, California standing in for Denmark, this film has it all!! And it ends with the most awkward/odd kissing scenes I have ever seen between two leads.

I'm sure it must have been in Martin's contract that his singing voice should feature regularly. On occasions his crooning would sprout up in the soundtrack relaying a few lines that relates to what is on screen. Such gems as "When your lover has a pistol in her bed, you'd be better off sleeping with your uncle Fred" !

So, much to recommend...sort of. For it's general badness, the groovy 60s feel and Sharon Tate's last performance, I say my time was well spent.
