Rumours began swirling around the internet this week that both Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn might be considering moving on from WWE by the year's end. At first it was (apparently incorrectly) reported that Zayn's contract ends this autumn and that Owens' contract runs out at new year. Now there are conflicting stories appearing online, so who knows.
These two wrestlers would be perfect signings for All Elite Wrestling, were they to leave. They are indie guys through and through. Incidentally, I vividly recall Zayn mentioning AEW by name during a televised WWE show.

I don't know what all the big time cuts for WWE are about, but they should probably try to maintain their roster a bit more before everyone is gone and wrestling for AEW. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in particular are two wrestlers who would fit well on Dynamite with the likes of Chris Jericho, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, MJF, Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega, Adam Cole, etc, though, I still have some matches I would like to see from them during their time in WWE before they go anywhere else, if they do.
Apart from potential solo matches, I wanted to see Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have a run with the Smackdown tag team championships together back in late 2017/early 2018 when they were the main heels on the show. They never did though, and i doubt there will ever be a better time for them to have won them.

To be fair to WWE, Kevin Owens has fared well in his time there and can have absolutely no complaints. As a 2-time Intercontinental Champion, 3-time United States Champion and former Universal Champion, he has a Hall Of Fame resume.
It looked for a time like Sami Zayn was never going to hold a belt, but then they saw how effective he could be as a heel, and with real mic skills to boot. He had to wait about 5 years from when he was promoted to the main shows, but now he's a 2-time Intercontinental Champion.

I wouldn't mind seeing El Generico and Kevin Steen in AEW.

^^ I agree. I didn't mean to deem the careers of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn as underwhelming, or inevitable for AEW to come around to revive their careers as a result of deprivation from WWE. I just think WWE is letting too many wrestlers get away, with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn being potential good examples, and while they could still have a couple more big matches for the time being, if they're considering leaving in the future.

You make some great points, as always. I honestly can't work out what's going on backstage at WWE but there's clearly some tension. Vince needs to break the bank to extend these guys' contracts, they're money. Two of the best from Canada and they interact so well together. They can adapt to any match type, wrestle in any style, or get hardcore. You can even put them on commentary and they'll do a great job.

I agree. Sami Zayn in particular sure showed off the strength of his character when he was co-hosting "Talking Smack" with Kayla Braxton, and I have no doubt he would kill it as a heel on commentary.
