I know and understand that everything outside of our bodies is visually scanned by our eyes, aurally scanned by our ears, and processed by our brains.
However, when it comes to memory and the images and sounds of memories in our mind, what in our brains actually produces those images and sounds?
Are those images and sounds physically recorded by our brains and stored for later selective retrieval?
If they are actually recorded and stored, can technology tap into that recording/storage facility and extract or copy it for external use?
And if they are not actually recorded and stored, where do those images and sounds come from, other than obviously having been previously scanned and processed by our eyes, ears, and brains?
I guess the same question also goes for our memories of taste, touch, smell, and other sensations.

Recollections of mind processes ? However, when it comes to memory and the images and sounds of memories in our mind, what in our brains actually produces those images and sounds? Images and sounds of memories of what? Phenomenons that have been actually processed by the senses in the past or dreams ?

Are they physically stored and/or generated? And if so, can technology access them? Or are they simply chemical processes? But I can't fathom images in the mind, whether real or imagined, as just coming out of thin air. They seem like they must be recorded and/or generated based on what's been recorded. It's like there are recording and playback functions in the brain.

I do not know if you can put all in one... One sense is different from the others, and what is not processed by the senses... I just finished researching the vision processes and all i'd say is that my lack of knowlege was abysmal in the area. It is now huge. The 'storage' in the brain is currently researched, and the data abailable usually add up to 'it is not sure'... About the taping... That's what ecg does ?
