Treading lightly with coworkers on Monday. Between the Buckeyes losing, and now the Browns falling short, or should I gloat about the Bengals victory?

Mac Jones was good, but he couldn't undo the utter incompetence of our coach. And this was a home game, and against the very competitor for the second place in the division. A lot of flags...and the fumble broke our neck. Pats fans should be excited about Jones. First pro games are difficult - - the game didn't look too big for him.

I'm shocked to find myself conflicted about the Pats losing. On one hand, I fucking hate the Pats, on the other the anti-Belechick contingency on this board is so absurd that I somehow would enjoy them being unhappy with their team winning.

Great day for football, with crowds at full tilt. This should be an exciting season.

I picked Kansas City but I wouldn't have minded a Cleveland win. Am tired of seeing Mahomes all the time.

Oh, and maybe Rogers could have taken a few snaps in pre-season, no?

And Germany is still a COVID hell thanks to our incompetent government, although we have a higher rate of vaccination than the US. The Danes have abolished every single COVID action. They are back to normal.

I'm not putting him into the hall of fame after one game, but he's no Greg McElroy.

I'll never be unhappy with my team winning. I said positive things after every win last year. Unfortunately there weren't enough of them, what with our shitty head coach and all. Anyway, it's week one and everyone wants to start off strong, but there's a lot of football left to be played. I expected them to miss the playoffs this year, but I also expected them to win this game. Now it's probable they get swept by Miami and the Bills, at least they still have the Jets to beat up on.

Drew Bledsoe is apparently on NBC now along with about 87 ancillary broadcasters who show up for 18 seconds at a time. But he was breaking down the play of some of the rookie QBs, that was good stuff. I just wish they let him actually do it for more than a minute at a time.

And I like him so far as an analyst.
