The "doppelganger" plot, or duplicate look-alike character has been used in classic TV westerns a few times. Bonanza had several of them.
Bonanza, S1 E19, The Gunmen, Hoss and Little Joe are mistaken for bloodthirsty hired killers in a small Texas town dominated by two feuding families. They each play both roles
Bonanza, S12 E18, A Deck of Aces, Ben's dead-on lookalike, the scheming Bradley Meredith, causes serious problems when he poses as the Cartwright patriarch and sells area ranchers' land to the railroad. Lorne Green played both roles.
Meredith returned in S13 E6, One Ace Too Many, to try to sell the Ponderosa while Ben was away, and abscond with the cash.
Bonanza, S5 E17, Alias Joe Cartwright, Joe is mistaken for his look-alike Army deserter Angus Borden, and sentenced to face a firing squad. Landon plays both roles.
The Rifleman, S4 E22, Deadly Image, A reliable eye-witness rides into North Fork and accuses Lucas McCain of cattle rustling and cold blooded murder. It was look-alike Earl Bantry, played Chuck Conners with a mustache.
The Rifleman, S4 E27, Guilty Conscience, A woman and her son arrive in North Fork on a stagecoach. Before too long she sees Micah and thinks that he is her long lost husband. Paul Fix plays the doppelganger without his dentures.

Gunsmoke: Alias Festus Haggen, S17, E23 (1972)-Deputy Festus Haggen is arrested and put on trial for murder after being mistaken for notorious killer Frank Eaton, who looks just like him. As Eaton, actor Ken Curtis is pretty good-looking.
