MLB. Can somebody please explain to me why the dimensions in the outfield are not the same in all the parks? Imagine football - gee - we're going to roll with a 50 yard field as opposed to your 100! Basketball - our 3 point shot is 'college' length in 'our house! Hockey - in our rink we're 'widening' the ice behind the goalies! Huh?

I actually kind of like that aspect of MLB, it sort of mixes things up. I would say the NFL's rule for what constitutes a reception is a real head-scratcher. The "process of the catch" is nebulous and too open to interpretation by the refs.

Back to MLB....baseball is the only sports that eliminates their players merely because they were substituted for. Every other sport allows free substitution and re-entry.

There are minimum requirements to the outfield dimensions that every stadium must meet.

As long as I live I'll never understand half the rules of rugby union.

But this needs to happen in baseball. People complain about too many pitching changes as it is, can you imagine how many more there would be if pitchers can be brought in and out freely?

As long as I live I'll never understand half the rules of rugby union. That's everyone involved in Rugby Union, including the match officials sometimes. Rugby Union is the only sport I've watched consistently where the commentators frequently say "Not sure what that penalty is for" and "Either side could have gotten a penalty there". What makes it worse, some refs blow penalties for everything, whilst others prefer to let the game flow and only blow up very obvious ones. Scrums are a friggin lottery sometimes.

I know many on here will have no idea what I'm on about, but here goes.
The wide and bouncer rules in all forms of Cricket need reviewing. It's interpretation is based on the 'batsmans stance' and a 'normal cricket shot'. Neither of these things truly exist anymore (especially in T20) and why is it that a batsman has so much influence on how a bowler must bowl.
For baseball fans, imagine a situation where the strike zone is determined not by rules nor the home plate umpire, but by where the batter stands. However, the pitchers rubber isn't allowed to move either.
I'm not going to go down the road of either Rugby codes without boring everyone.
In NFL - I think there has to be some simplification of some rules. I think some of them are contradictory and confusing for casual fans (like me) and some are totally arbitrary. I haven't seen a down yet where there isn't some form of holding.
Baseball - I like the substitutes rules, and the differing fields. It adds to the game. However I'm no fan of the DH rule. Pitchers can bat.
Basketball - it's not the rules, but the enforcement of them. I truly believe that of all major international sports, the NBA has the worst officiating - and the 'bias' towards different things has affected outcomes and decided championships. Whether it's intentional or not if another debate, but bias is a definite factor in the NBA.
