wtf? To my horror in he was even more juvenile, annoying and quip-y than in the horrible Sony films....cringefest galore... Agreed. The Amazing Spider-Kid did more talking than fighting. And dumb MCU fans complain about the "Martha scene" when they didn't understand it at all, the Cap-Spider-Kid scene was even worse: Cap: "I'm from Queens." Spider-Kid: "I'm from the Bronx." Cap: "Really, kid? We're from the same city? OK, let's stop fighting." Stops fighting and walks away in the middle of the fight. That was almost as lame as Ronan the Big Bad Destroyer of Planets getting defeated by a Dance-Off. So in Infinity War, Thanos will probably be defeated by a karaoke challenge. well I cannot remember that particular CW scene, but the Marvel counterpart to the Martha scene in Cap 3 is this: Ironman stating: " I don't care. He killed my mom." starting an idiotic brawling scene between middle aged Ironman and his ally cap, jeopardizing everything they built up. .. .... This shows how deeply these characters are rooted in childish pulp - grown up characters suffering from mommy issues that determine their actions in critical situations. One brawling is ended by an mommy issue, the other is started by it - you can chose which one is the worse writing... The embarrassing dance off scene in GotG made me not watch part 2, but technically the baddy was just distracted by the dancing, but defeated by one of these convenient mcguffin thingies? Whatever, that is like saying that it was the bullet that killed the victim, not the shooter. But it's pointless to make fun of it, it's for kids.

That was cringey by Spiderkid, not to mention the stupidity of Stark bringing him to a battle with the worlds most powerful superhumans after his supposed moral guilt dilemma of that student kid who died in Sokovia is swept under the rug. I really think MCU execs review fight scenes and say, "insert joke here, insert joke here". Its so predictable. Not to mention that Tony Stark (a 50+ year old man), found out who the Amazing Spider-Kid is by stalking and spying on a random high school kid like only a creepy pedophile would do. And then transporting a minor out of the country under false pretenses lying to the minor's legal guardian is basically kidnapping.

I can't imagine Peter having anal with MJ would automatically make a Spidey movie a hit. That maybe so, but Homecoming won't get close to the way Raimi explored Peters transformation on the human level as was in Spiderman 2. From the trailers, Peters a punk kid who will be joking and wise cracking around with Stark hogging the screentime. I hope they try and develop Starks and Parkers relation but I expect the typical MCU glossed flavour of thin story with plenty of CGI drab against a underdeveloped villain, and the audience will eat it up. Trailers can be misleading, plus Tony actually isn't in the movie that much. And if not having the villain be the star means the Hero actually stands out, it's worth it. Too bad X-Men never learned that lesson. Guess what, it took Raimi TWO movies to get to that level of storytelling. This Peter is only now getting his movie. Compare Homecoming to Spider-Man 1.

DC and Fox need to learn that.

So Batman risking kids is good, but Tonys' is bad?

So Batman risking kids is good, but Tonys' is bad? Batman doesn't stalk and spy on random high school kids like creepy pedophile Tony Stark does. And Batman doesn't kidnap children and illegally transport them out of the country like Tony the Child Kidnapper does.

No, he just adopts orphans and then indoctrinates them into being distractions for his enemies and then moves onto the next one when the prior one either dies or leaves him because he did something to drive them away. Tony at least owned up to his failing and sent Peter home. Batman can't even do that. And Peter being a kid doesn't enter into this, if he'd been an adult Tony would've come for him anyways.

Peter is a minor so he can't legally give consent to an adult who isn't his parent or guardian to transport him out of the country. if he'd been an adult Tony would've come for him anyways. Peter isn't an adult. It's as stupid as saying if an 18-year old had sex with a 14-year old, but if that 14-year old was an adult, then it wouldn't be statutory rape. But that 14-year old isn't an adult and that's why it is statutory rape. And Peter isn't an adult an that's why it was child kidnapping for Tony the Child Kidnapper to transport him out of the country under false pretenses lying to his legal guardian.

Peter being a kid is incidental, if he'd been an adult the same thing would've happened. If the 14 year old wasn't a 14 year old and was an adult, then no it's not statutory rape because it's between both adults. Better than how Bruce brainwashes kids.

What would or wouldn't happen if Peter was an adult is completely irrelevant. Peter isn't an adult. Under the law, Peter is still a minor. So under the law, Tony Stark is guilt of child kidnapping.

The thing is, R-rated is not innovation. people seem to think only R-rated are the biiiiizniz. That's shit. If the storie or the execution are shit. In those two instances it was not, but that's not a guarantee of anything. Guardians was innovative, iron-man was innovative, avengers. heck the fucking idea of the MCU was innovative. Fucking colombus egg... Isn't it fucking funny? Pre-adolescent humor, masturbation with the "little hand" and, acknowledging that you've been fucking up the franchise for decades with in-world commentary is "innovation." Fox deigns to give fanboys the R-rated Wolverine movie they've been clamoring for ages just as the lead is on his way out of the door - and that's "innovation." Fanboys are so caught up in corporate fetishizing that they celebrate studios over superheroes. They let their love/hatred of one corporate entity over another determine how the Marvel Universe gets carved up. They disgust me. They're poseurs, and I will never acknowledge them as fans. I would love it if Marvel could use the characters they licensed to third parties competitively. Let Fox and Marvel make X-Men films concurrently and see how that plays out. Casual fans would be free to see and glorify the "innovative" versions of these movies while real fans could enjoy a unified universe. God, I would love to see that happen. Slow clap. Thats it.

He is my favorite super hero. But the one thing i would change is those fucking robins. Always hated that shit. Always bothered me. So creepy.

The Robins have always bothered me as well but, I usually refrain from discussing them. I know how sensitive diehard Batman fans can be when it comes to the Boy Wonder. The Robins feel like a vestigial part of the Batman mythos that should have been surgically removed. IMO, the Batman stories that do not feature Robin are almost always more satisfying than the ones that do. For me, Bruce recruiting Dick and Tim into crimefighting at such a young age amounts to child endangerment. Try as hard as they may, MCU detractors don't have a leg to stand on when comparing Bruce and Tony's treatment of children. Peter Parker can lift a police car over his head without breaking a sweat. He has the strength, speed, stamina and agility of a man-sized spider. His reflexes border on the precognitive. And, he is also gifted in the material sciences and engineering. (I don't know how Robin(s) stacks up). So, I wouldn't worry about Peter Parker. I would worry for those who would oppose the Spectacular Spider-Man. That beatdown is going to be serious and come with a whole lot of trolling.

How did this devolve into an argument over whether Tony Stark or Bruce Wayne is a bigger pedophile?! You guys are really fucking frustrating... because I started a whole Batman vs Iron Man thread, and THAT's where such an important and serious debate belongs!

He began with his unilateral statements RE Marvel never requiring their IP from Fox and Sony and then went on to copy and past his usual litany of anti-MCU rhetoric. He really needs new material. coldenhaulfield, be kind to your brother and help him out.

As long they stay away from Wolverine and Deadpool, i dont care if the X-Men movies goes back to Marvel. You can have Deadpool but, Wolverine is X family. How about this, let Fox and Marvel both have him, this way those who don't like Marvel's take can enjoy the off-brand version.
