This grew tiresome rather quickly. Much of it didn’t make sense, either. Even Nic Cage seemed bored.

Just finished the movie.
It is an interesting hybrid of genres, but a mess. It goes back and forth between being entertaining and being tedious. It makes enough sense that I wasn't completely lost, but it also isn't particularly interesting or original. The visual style and some great moments of Nicolas Cage insanity are the best aspects of the movie.
The sad thing is that this movie is still one of Nicolas Cage's better movies in the past 10 years. 2021 has been an interesting year for his career. One movie where he doesn't have any lines, one movie where he is typically bonkers and one movie where he gives a genuinely good and subtle dramatic performance. Watching him in Pig and Prisoners of the Ghostland it almost seems like it is 2 completely different actors.
5/10
