NalkarjI have seen you recommend many films and I have never once seen you say any words to the effect of "RUN OUT RIGHT NOW AND BUY THIS MOVIE OR I SHALL KIDNAP YOUR FIRSTBORN CHILD." Personally, even if you had said such, I would have thought twice about actually purchasing the film. Find it on-line or at the library, maybe, but BUY ? With real money? FWIW, Most of the movies that you have recommended to me or to others and I have located and watched, I have liked. I would guess that it's because we both have good taste in movies. RE: the needling Thing is, we kinda are put into the position of having to assume that the "jokes" are just that. But how are we to know for sure when a person has a "new to us" name and claims "newbie-ness" ? Benefit of the doubt is one thing but I really don't like seeing good people being "needled" by someone with an unusual sense of humor (if that's what it is). Particularly rankling was spiderwort being "teased" (again, jokingly ?) about all the wonderful threads being started and all the informative posts. Doghouse6What do you think about this guy "one framing" films ? Personally I think he needs to find a new hobbie ! fwiw The CK lady and her constant companions (one of which followed her wherever she went ) have all left the building. This is one of the improvements achieved by there being an IMDb-2. I never saw her as being deliberately provoking, just rather clueless with a major hobby-horse to ride.

Doghouse6 Brussel sprouts, lima beans and cauliflower -- together or separate ? Well, I've never tried them together, but now that you mention it, hmm...nah, I like each too much on its own (although I occasionally do cauliflower "polonaise").

That's a very good point too, BATouttaheck. Recommending that you see a film is not the same as recommending that you buy a film. I don't own a copy of The Last of Sheila (though I intend to purchase one), as much as I love the movie; it's a somewhat difficult movie to find, but I was first able to find it through interlibrary loan and then recorded it from TCM. Doghouse6, oh, I understood your point. I was just trying to clarify, especially as, to be honest, this whole "dispute" is not about The Last of Sheila. It's about London's reaction to my recommendation of that movie.

I guess it was an interesting experiment producing some aesthetically pleasing abstractions, but I confess I can't find much meaning therein. Perhaps Jackson Pollock would have appreciated them.

A popular saying on the old IMDb boards was "that was two hours of my life I won't get back". 'Tis an odd thing for a "trusting newbie" to be able to quote a now defunct board.

Does this board have an "Ignore" facility?

As for the original topic, I only got Le voyage dans la lune too, Carl LaFong. I certainly didn't mind Mr. Shulman's photography, and I liked one or two of them (though I wish there were more movies I knew! ), but, like Doghouse, I couldn't find much meaning in them. Still, thanks for showing them to us!
