First of all, Leafs, have a great vacation next week. Hope you do or go somewhere enjoyable.
I have to honestly say that I’m glad they’re not rushing the possession storyline. It’s definitely the most interesting part of the show right now. I just didn’t realize that it was such a controversial subject for the show in this day and age. I guess for fans of the show since it began, they’re quite elderly now and they are more so the ones who are upset that they’re doing this again. I think it’s definitely going to help the show as far as the ratings are concerned.
On a separate subject, I saw a Twitter poll from NBC Days that asked the fans which love triangle they were most excited about. Of course it was Lucas/Sami/EJ that was the highest at 34% followed surprisingly by Allie/Tripp/Chanel. Brady/Chloe/Phillip were 3rd and of course, Ava/Rafe/Nicole were last.
More interesting though was the poll that asked which Beyond Salem characters you’d want to see return to the main show. Will & Sonny won huge with 51% followed by Austin and Carrie, Billie and Shane were last.

Thank you! Doing a week-long hiking trip WAAAAAAYYYYYY north of here. Looking forward to a change of scenery, we have been stuck home A LOT the last 18 months!
I wish Doug would spit it out already but otherwise, I am glad they aren't rushing it either. Although the show is bulky with cast right now so most stories are only shown 2x a week now so it's going to take a lot longer. I have seen a few comments on the Days FB that people are not watching because it's a rehash of the story, but I haven't seen much that people are upset about the devil specifically. I guess some might be, there are people who believe Satan is real so I guess they don't want to see it on TV.
Interesting about the triangles. The Brady/Chloe/Philip one would be so much better if Philip wasn't so dumb. I think the stuff with EJ and Nicole they previewed yesterday looks good. OMG when EJ said to Nicole "I thought you liked my big...Ego..." and smirked at her I was DYING!!! That was a great line...the two of them played it really well. I actually am starting to not mind Dan as EJ. I mean, no one will ever be as good as James Scott in the role but he is starting to make it his own. I think he has really good chemistry with everyone except for Sami so glad they will be moving her to Lucas, as it should be. I enjoy EJ's scenes with Chad and Johnny, and the ones with Nicole are good.
Maybe Philip and Ava will get together? I actually don't mind them as a pair of schemers so I could see some sparks there.
I also thought the scenes with Justin, Xander, and Gwen were good too. The dialogue was sharp. I am enjoying all the British-isms Emily and Paul are implementing into their characters when they are together.
I would be ok with Will and Sonny back, I liked NuSonny. I have still only watched 2 episodes of Beyond Salem. I wouldn't mind Carrie and Austin back but not Austin Peck. He's awful. Billie is too campy I think. I like Lisa Rinna but I preferred the character of Billie when it was Julie Pinson. I would love to see Shane back, but not sure what they would have him do, and Kimberley is never coming back and I don't want them to break up Shane and Kim again. Who would they pair him with?
I would like to have Theresa back. I know Jen Lilley has no interest in returning to daytime but I think they should recast. Theresa was my favourite lady for Brady other than Nicole.

I thought I would hold off posting while you were on vacation Leafs. Since there’s only a few of us left here. Also, it would give me a chance to watch the episodes and have more of an opinion.
First off, I love it when Gabi gets kicked to the curb. First by EJ a couple of weeks ago and now by Phillip. I can’t stand her character but I do think that Camila Banus is a good actress. It’s hard to say that when you have such disdain for the character.
I actually have to admit that I like Phillip and Ava scheming together. I get it that they want to redeem her character as well as Gwen. But, Ava is a mob princess and she still needs to be somewhat bad. Better than when she was off the rails with Steve and Kayla.
Gwen, I can’t believe I’m saying this, is becoming a favorite of mine. Six months ago, I hated her fingernail biting character. But now, her and Xander are making a great couple. They’re interesting and fun to watch. And, they’re both beautiful people. He especially is awesome. I thought it was just because of his chemistry with Sarah. But, he’s quite the scene stealer. I also love how Justin is getting his hands a little dirty now. His image has always been too squeaky clean.
I’m so over the giggle and awful writing for Abe and Paulina. Jackee is a great, comedic actress. But, her talents are truly wasted on trying to make Abe a vital character again. I love having a diverse cast, but give them something to work with. If they can do it for Doug and Julie and Victor and Maggie, then they should be able to do it for Abe and Paulina as well. However, nobody can replace Lexie for me. She was the greatest pairing for Abe. Like Bo and Hope and John and Marlena, Abe and Lexie were a front and center couple who had some great stories written for them.
Again, I’m bored with the younger set on Days. Tripp and Johnny have really good actors playing their roles but just aren’t given enough interesting storylines. I’m just so glad that we’re not getting Ben and Ciara thrown in our faces every day.
Finally, I’m satisfied with the possession storyline and the drama at Titan. I like where they’re going with Jake and his background and Phillip finally acting like CEO and Victor and Kate’s Son.

Glad you are caught up. I binged when I got back but it did not take that long as I found a lot of it boring and tedious although I am enjoying the stories.
I agree, the younger set is boring but I do like all the actors they have. Johnny is super cute and was well cast. I like the stuff about the movie although I do think it's dumb he is just casting his relatives. But whatever. Not a big deal.
Also agree about Gabi, can't stand her character but Camila does a good job in the role. She is just always hysterical and AWFUL! I don't care for people like that, and her energy is so overwhelming. I would be fine if Gabi left the show permanently TBH.
Gwen has improved immensely and I credit PT as Xander because he is awesome and really great with everyone he interacts with. I think he is a fantastic performer and I love his character. I think he was overshadowed by Sarah/Linsey's zaniness. I am not sure what they did with EOB either in terms of her hair, clothes, and makeup but she is looking really pretty and attractive lately as well. before I just found her trashy. they are doing a good job reedeeming her character for sure. I love Justin getting involved although I do feel bad he might get disbarred now lol
I think Ava needs to be bad as well, just not mental. This is a good look for her. I am confused about Jake. did they mention him being in the mob before? I remember there were those thugs that came to the garage but I don't specifically remember it being mob-related. I probably missed some details FFing. But I like this, it makes sense for his character for sure.
I am at a loss with Abe and Paulina. It all seems so...awkward? I love the diversity, I want to see it and I want more of it. I love Jackee, I love Eli, and I like Abe. I want this to work, something is off. I am not sure what it is exactly but every time they are all together it's just awkward and I don't know why. But I like Abe and Paulina getting together, and agree that no one can replace lexie.
