I think Tarantino is a weirdo most times but this is actually he's most normal close to human thing he's ever said, if he had listened to his mother you wouldn't even know him well enough to be a condescending prick about him. Wow. Okay. So that’s enough to hate her? Geez. She was just telling him that probably just to help him (in her mind) being a mom. I don't think he hates her or maybe he does but that's his decision. He feels if he had listened to her he wouldn't have been successful today, now while I don't really like his films I'm not going to vote her for a mother of the year award either.

I get it, but I’m sure if you asked every single actor in Hollywood… how many of them would say their parents told them at some point “it’s probably not going to happen. You might want to get a real job and settle down with a family.” I’d wager 75% or more. At least once.

You might want to get a real job and settle down with a family.” I’d wager 75% or more. At least once. That may be true too but Tarantino isn't normal so I didn't think his mother would be normal either. So this thread isn't really that much of a surprise to me.
