A truly gifted actor, and even though I have not seen too many of his films (outside Sweden), he always delivered the goods, and I remember that the day he died, I was with my mum in Stockholm, having left from Oslo with train the day before (I believe), and arrived rather late. And so when we went down to the hotel lobby the next day, and ordered some breakfast, and we immediately saw the headlines, and it was a sad way to start up the day with.
I think the first time I saw him onscreen, was in a smaller part, in the Swedish crime-tv films Beck (along with Peter Haber and Mikael Persbrandt), which were very popular, and somehow still is running (but only with Haber left, on "life support"), but you could sense that Nyquist had a "silent" intensity over his performances, and I was kind of disappointed he did not get more time in the show, but I guess that is also why he did not continue on, and instead gradually built himself up, to become one of the leading actors of Scandinavia, and one of those who surely managed to achieve success also beyond the borders.
He seemed to portray (of the few later films I have seen of him) a lot of bad guys, and I really enjoyed his work with films like Wallander: Mastermind (2005), one of the late Mission Impossible films and John Wick. Think he could have become a great Bond villain as well.
Anyway, thanks for the tribute video you included.
By the way, do you have any personal favorite roles/films of Nyquist?

I last saw him in a little SF film of high quality. It is actually a classic tale of explorers discovering life elsewhere and sacrificing themselves to get the word back to Earth. Not a horror story, although encountering the unknown can be scary.
