Maybe Im in the minority here, but I dont know why the NFL has Thursday night games in the first place as most matchups are dull.

Maybe Im in the minority here, but I dont know why the NFL has Thursday night games in the first place as most matchups are dull. Its their way of getting all the teams in prime time at some point. They know their ratings are good no matter who plays so they can get away with Jags-Bengals. I love football but what you see on Thursdays ain't football. This isn't a game meant to be played twice in 4 days. It's almost always a sloppy, penalty-turnover-fest. Especially when they schedule crap teams.

Monday nights back in the day were very much marquee games. You wouldn't get a Jags-Bengals game back then. Crappy teams didn't get many opportunities for prime time. I like having the Sunday and Monday night games. I don't like the Thursday night games. Not because it's overkill but rather the product sucks as they schedule crap teams and like I said before, it's too short a recovery to play Sunday and then go play on Thursday. That being said, I usually watch them anyway but I totally see your point on how it's overkill.

I like the Thursday night games but I know the players don't like it because of the short recovery time. Although, I do think this has the potential to be a decent game. We got two young QBs going at it in a prime-time matchup. Current line is 7.5. Not sure Cincy can give them that much but I think they'll win. Next week we got Rams and Seahawks on Thursday night. Now that should be a good one.

Agree 100% on that! The NFL is a ratings juggernaut though. If the ratings sucked for Jags-Bengals then they wouldn't put a game like that on. But it'll still rate well. I suppose it must be good if you're a fan of a shitty small city team to get a prime time game but it does suck for the rest of the country!

I kinda look at this way, what else is there to watch? Not much... unless you're a pretty big fan of baseball, football really is the only choice on Thursday night.
And plus, we, the fans, get to see an extra game. We only get 3 games on Sunday afternoon to choose from, unless you buy NFL Sunday Ticket. Which is like what... $300 bucks?? then we get Sunday night game and Monday night game. Seriously, we should get more choices on Sunday.
And to be fair, the Thursday night games have been pretty damn good so far this season. In fact, that Giants and FT game was one of the best games of the entire season, Cowboys/Bucs was very good too. But yeah, last week's game (texans/panthers) did kinda suck though but only because Tyrod Taylor was hurt.
If you look at the schedule, it's not too bad for the rest of the season -
Rams/Seahawks Bucs/Eagles Broncos/Browns Packers/Cardinals Jets/Colts (lol... not very good)
Ravens/Dolphins Pats/Falcons (another questionable matchup) Bears/Lions - Raiders/Cowboys - Bills/Saints (thanksgiving day)
Cowboys/Saints Steelers/Vikings Chiefs/Chargers
9ers/Titans
Not sure what you guys are complaining about? Other than a few, it looks pretty good for most of the season.

Thursday Night Football is about one thing.
Mo money.
That's it. Mo money. It's always about Mo money. 17 games? Mo money. If they could make mo money by playing less that's what they'd do.

Oh, who's going to win the mo money game? Prolly Cincy.
I haven't seen either team play yet this year so I'll be there.

I doubt anyone would even play football if there wasn't any money involved in it.

Possibly the only time in a 10 year stretch that the North East gets the privilege of watching the Bengals play the Jaguars...........I will probably fall asleep 20 minutes in.

Jags up 14-0 now on the Bengals, Jags are having great success rushing the ball down the Bengals throats, Lawrence has just been average but he’s made some plays running. Bengals can’t get much going.
