The seventh and ninth shortage is of no concern to Catman.

Yea, pumpkin. My supplier is backordered. So here's my customers asking when you making pumpkin cheesecake, when you making your pumpkin donuts, etc etc.? Now I have some asking for their usual pumpkin pies. I have 1 jumbo can of pumpkin right now. And you all know customers are not understanding when they want their food.

Not surprised, the fresh ones are rotting in the crates, something that NEVER happens this early.

NO Lunchables at either of the stores where I shop, for the past 2 weeks. We don't eat them, but I sometimes get them for my mother as they keep in the fridge and are about the amount she will eat. Of course, she hits the candy bar/cookie first!
Haven't seen a shortage of bottled water, even had huge sales for a couple of weeks.
Time to stock up on TP and paper towels again....*sigh*

I've started doing a very early Sunday shop at a market called Andronico's, which opened earlier this year, and is very close and convenient. It's owned by Safeway, which is enormous, here.
There isn't much of a shortage of foods/products that I buy. But, because of the threads on this board, and general talk about it, I looked more carefully, this morning.
The shelves of canned pet food did seem to have some "space available," but they weren't even close to empty. As I don't currently have pets, I don't pay close attention to how well stocked they usually are.
The varieties of pasta shapes and styles, seems to be greatly reduced. The basic "strands," and "tubes," seem OK. But, "bow ties," small "sea shells," weren't on the shelves. Earlier in the week, I couldn't find "angel hair," in a neighborhood corner-store. I bought some today.
The butcher's case for non-packaged meat was full, as was the packaged ground-meats, and whole chickens. The packaged steaks/chops, on Styrofoam trays, with shrink-wrap covers, were a bit down ... with prices that were going through the roof!
There was no problem with bottled water, or bread.
I went next-door, to a CVS, and bought paper towels. There wasn't an evident shortage in the paper category.
It's very possible that the Friday/Saturday shopping had some effect on the availability of products on an early Sunday morning, and shelves will be re-stocked beginning tomorrow.

I can't provide any eyewitness accounts to what is going on with...
#7 Lunchables
...Since I don't shop for those...
But I haven't seen any shortages of anything else on that list, at this time....
As I noted in another thread...
I couldn't find any cans of Spinach at two stores last week...
Is Popeye food not worth making the list?
Sadly people made fun of that discussion...
We're in a major product crisis, due to this pandemic, and people are making stupid jokes?
What a fucked up world we're living in...
Yeah, let's just see how funny it becomes, for them, when THEY can't buy the foods THEY want.
"ROTFWIL!"
Get your damn shots anti-vaxxers... Your lives are now fucking with ours, and it's no longer acceptable.

You broach a good point, MCD. You mention cans. I wonder if frozen produce, is undergoing a similar shortage. That might speak to the metal shortage that Enigma brought up.

Bread? Meat? At least here farmers are expecting a record grain harvest due to rain at the right time. The problem appears to be supply chains which are designed to be ultra efficient with no delays. When one link in the chain breaks (or even slows down) the whole chain stops. Truckdrivers are in short supply. International ports are full of containers to be sent around the country with no trucks to take them. Suppliers have no containers to put their products in, because all the worlds containers are full, either on ships awaiting dock or at the docks awaiting a truck to deliver them to Aldi. Truckers and shippers have little financial jncentive to return empty containers to the source so they stay in the warehouse, with no room for full containerloads. Suppliers cant get containers so have to wait for new containers to be manufactured. The free market at its efficient best.

It's called 'cake', but only has unsweetened applesauce beaten into gelatin and allowed to set up. It should help when we need something a little sweet and can't have 'real' cake.
I hope these shortages don't continue. I just noticed that two prescriptions I just had refilled are only a 'partial' refill. I'm assuming they're running low on meds. but didn't notice until I got them home. Worrying about that since we can't go without some meds we take.
I've also had to make doctor's appointments this past month. If you were seriously ill, you'd be screwed. One appointment is in a month, the other is in two months. Both are something that is worrisome, so I will be stressing about a diagnosis for several months.

Actually, Enigma, I have heard of both chocolate and coffee shortages being in the offing. However, I think I first heard that about 10 years ago, so it may not be time to hit the panic button.

Even our homegrown Picsweet variety is a no show.
