I watched Cop Land, I haven't seen it since it came out and I quite enjoyed it.
If you haven't seen it check it out. It's got Stallone in one of his best acting roles (a role he's proud of), it's got De Niro, Liotta and Keitel. It's a cop corruption Western style morality tale.
Any fans of Cop Land?

This is Sly’s best acting outside of Rocky and First Blood. It may be his most earnest (debatable with Rocky being his passion project).
Too bad this script didn’t get one more rewrite. It has moments comparable with modern gangster film classics.
However, there are a few moments that feel like a different film. I’d recast Janeane Garofalo and Michael Rapaport.
I love Ray Liotta and DeNiro in this. Harvey Keitel and Robert Patrick were awesome.
This was supposed to be the “Italians” trying to get their buddy Sly an Oscar. And he should have.

You mean De Niro right? My bad. I was just ranting off the cuff. Just watched “Godfather Part II” and said the wrong actor. Yes, DeNiro. And I was even thinking of the scene where DeNiro was eating the sandwich and he’s telling Sly he blew it. He waited too late. That’s my favorite scene.

Put me in the positive column.
I think it is Stallone's best work, ranking with the first Rocky. Memorable melancholy final scene. I try to catch it every time it plays on television.

It was the movie Stallone thought would bridge his transition into legitimate dramatic actor instead of action star. From what I remember. It didn’t…but it’s still a good movie.

One of Stallone's best performances. Great cast and great movie.
It's such a shame Stallone doesn't do more dramatic roles. I remember reading somewhere that after Rocky, Stallone was touted as the next Brando.
