Putting aside the fact that the strip also features a dog that types manuscripts and a bird that rides a Zamboni... how does Lucy keep getting into Schroeder's home to pester him at his piano? Is it just that kind of town where everybody leaves their front doors open?

Is it just that kind of town where everybody leaves their front doors open? Believe it or not, there was a time when people did just that.
