Went last Friday to get tested…the quick test was negative but the culture test came back positive. So I’m now in quarantine until next Monday.
The cough is real. Body aches and general discomfort lasted a good solid 4 days. Yesterday started the upswing I believe. Cough is less invasive. I was able to get my first good night of sleep Sunday night. Also a weird ‘cold euphoria’ overtakes me from time to time. I googled this when it first hit me yesterday because it’s often the best thing about being sick. Has anyone here experienced this? I remember it from all the way back when I was a kid so I know it’s been a constant for me any time I get pretty sick but once you start feeling better you get this really good almost body high. Googling it I saw it referred to as ‘cold euphoria’ and that sounds accurate.

Some people can feel weak for a long time (my mom and aunt felt very weak) but I think you should be normal in just a few days.

Now, I'm going to go all 'motherly' on you, and tell you to drink plenty of fluids, they flush out toxins, get plenty of rest and eat healthily. You body needs fuel to fight the germ and rebuild what has been damaged. I've never heard of 'cold euphoria', but I have a friend that would scream in fear of it - she is a sun worshipper, is happiest when the outside temp is over 90 degrees, and complains that my house, in winter, is "cold enough to hang meat in" (it is set at 72 degrees). Best of luck!

Best of luck! Thanks. Ive eaten mostly soup since friday and have been downing water and hot tea. The cold euphoria isn't because im cold...but because a cold (illness) sparks it i guess. I read something about the human brain storing some chemicals when your sick and when you start recovering it releases them or something...but im no science guy so i don't even know if what im saying is even close to true. All i know is theres random waves of good feelings. Like when your clogged sinuses first clear up. Almost a lightheaded joy to be had. Probably better than heroin.

I'm keeping best thoughts for you, as you improve. "Cold euphoria" ... I've not heard of that, but it's intriguing.

Huh, I have never had that euphoria, but lucky you! Enjoy, and keep eating soup; nutritious and hydrating, and better tolerated by a sick tummy. When I am sick, I eat (vegetarian) celery soup and what I call "white food", mashed potatoes, rice, milk, custard and a protein drink. All things easy to digest. I'm cautious with ice cream because of all the sugar. Keep getting better!

I dry coughed for a year after, learned it's called silent hypoxia. C19 damages the lungs, your O2 count drops and your body starts coughing to take in more air. Kept me from sleeping soundly for a year. Hopefully the vaccine spares you that torture.

I have the asthma on top of it so I’m pretty used to having no oxygen…but I would prefer not coughing all the time.

Cold Euphoria?! That's a thing? You can feel good by getting sick?! I wish I had euphoria when I got sick! Usually I feel like shit and anxious!
