I like it a lot, I really only use it for web surfing, so for me it "does the job" The only files I ever save are pictures, and those seem to work just fine. Would you say a Chromebook is basically a Google brand tablet, like Apple's iPad and Amazon's Kindle Fire? I guess that's a fair description, except that it does have the full blown chrome web browser, just like you would open on a PC.

I refuse to pay, I'm still on Windows 3.1 Yeah, it's super super slow and I can't really use anything outside DOS programs but it's good with usenet and netscape. Hope you stopped using this for internet dial up
Wait, is there another way? That's even the same phone I have. Texting takes days.

Received a message today that my machine won't be compatible with Windows 11.
That's nice. Here is me continuing on like normal. I upgraded to Windows 10 when my anti virus subscription said they would no longer support Windows 7.

I have been a full-time Linux user since the first decade of this century. I use Manjaro, a Germany based operating system constructed on top of Arch Linux. Switching from Windows to Linux was one of the best decisions I ever made in my life. Have never worried about anti-virus or blue screen of death. Have used tabbed file manager and tabbed browsers for a long-long time. If I were to move away from Windows, Linux would be my choice. It is very flexible and stable, at least as I heard of it. I love DOS back in the days (yeah, I am showing my age) when we typed on the command line, and I see Linux is similar in that respect. Many corporation program their application with Linux coding. Even the hack security trainings I noticed are using Linux system on a virtual machine. Quite a powerful O/S. It would just be too big a switch for me now. Yes, I would recommend you to stay with Windows. The main reason for switching to Linux for many people was concern about security and problem of blue screen of death. But after Windows XP, Microsoft improved their OS and nowadays you don't have as much security issue as you used to have in early 2000s. Plus you have all the best software available on Windows unlike on Linux where you have all the essential ones but may not have all the proprietary ones. Update - Yesterday, I bought a new laptop. Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Carbon. They upgraded me to Windows 11 right in the shop itself. I found it easy to use but I can't tell you how much better it is than Windows 10 because I only use Windows for work and use only Linux for entertainment/personal use. But I had no difficulty in using Windows 11. Within minutes I was able to shrink my default drive and create space for installing Linux. Within 15 minutes I was able to install and run Linux side by side Windows (dual boot). Just like to mention 1 thing. The laptop I bought has a QHD resolution and trust me QHD (2560x1600) feels much better than FHD. You feel the reading experience is much better at this resolution. If any one of you are going to buy a laptop, I will suggest getting either a QHD or UHD laptop.

If not good, I may skip it like I skipped Vista and Win8 since I don't need to change computer in the foreseeable future. Please keep posted if anything new.
I may still hope to get familiar with Linux someday when I have the time.

It's amazing how, other than with XP (REALLY seemed like that one might go on for forever!), Microsoft ALWAYS seems to release the next version of their O.S. JUST when I'm FINALLY starting to feel TOTALLY comfortable with the old one!! Even though I've got a newer desktop that has NO problem moving up to Windows 11, I'm not changing until they COMPLETELY pull the plug on supporting 10 (or, possibly, when they announce that the upgrade from 10 to 11 will no longer be "free")...... besides, hopefully by then they'll have most of the major 'bugs' weeded out.....
