Ripley Under Ground - It actually completes a strange movie quest of mine, which is seeing every screen adaptation of the character Tom Ripley ever made (and I speak as someone who tends to avoid movie quests and has never even read one of Highsmith's books). It's just I'd already seen Purple Noon, The American Friend, The Talented Mr Ripley, Ripley's Game and even caught a radio adaptation of The Boy Who Followed Ripley by accident, but for years, I've found Ripley Under Ground notoriously difficult to locate (I'm not even sure it was ever officially released over here).
How did I rate it? - S'okay. Definitely the worst adaptation so far.
I've noticed there's a Netflix TV adaptation based on all the books currently in the works .

Blood & Wine- 6/10
Random HBO Max watch, the trailer looked interesting. A little too contrived and melodramatic, especially compared to Bob Rafleson's earlier movies with Jack Nicholson, which were so intimate and naturalistic. This isn't helped by how utterly phony and Hollywood-airbrushed Stephen Dorff and Jennifer Lopez come off. Still, it's pretty good whenever it's focusing on Nicholson, Michael Caine, or Judy Davis.
