OK... Let's assume Ghosts are real... for the purpose of this discussion...
So, I've been watching some episodes of Ghost Hunters International... and the team from the USA, investigates hauntings in other countries...
I've noticed that, most of the time, when they talk to ghosts, and ask them to make their devices go off, or to knock on the walls, ETC... They are asking them to do these things in English, when the country may be France or Germany, ETC... Places where the natives may not speak, English...
Oddly, some spirits do seem to respond on command for the ghost hunting team members... (ASSUMING THIS IS NOT FAKED...)
How is this possible?
How can a ghost, who only spoke, let's say: 'French', in life, understand English in Death?
Are there some religious beliefs that can explain this?
Or... are the ghost hunters just completely stupid, in expecting Foreign Spirits to understand them?... And they just get lucky that something does respond to them, even though it is impossible for the spirits to understand what the team members are saying?

Catman has noticed that Americans (US) tend to think that if they speak slowly and loudly, everyone understands English.

As a matter of fact, that was what made Harry Houdini realize that spiritism was all fake. After his mother passed away, he went to a seance in the hope of getting in touch with her, but, when "his mother" responded, she spoke in English. Back when his mother was alive, she spoke only French, & did not know a single word of English. From that time onward, he sought to disprove all psychics & mediums.

Simple really. When a voice goes from our world to the beyond, the language is always translated from the language of the speaker to that of the listener. (And, of course, working in the other direction as well.) That's how it's always worked.

For whatever it's worth, with my premonitions, they're usually in the form of concepts, and not words or language. Language is a mortal construct. Our 5 senses are organs that pick up physical stimuli in the environment around us, and you'd kind of think that a spirit, as a non-physical being, would have different ways of communicating that are not based on mortal language. Theoretically.

When you die, your spirit is suddenly able to understand and speak every language on the planet? Seems unlikely, but since I am not a spiritual expert, that is why I asked the original question.

Our 5 senses are organs that pick up physical stimuli in the environment around us, and you'd kind of think that a spirit, as a non-physical being, would have different ways of communicating that are not based on mortal language. Theoretically. The theory behind ESP is humans have a 6th sense where we can communicate possibly via the electro-magnetic spectrum. We create electricity in our brains to make it function. It may be possible these electric impulses can travel and be picked up by another brain like radio transmission. None of this has been proven yet, but could account for the language conundrum since we think in concepts before we apply language to it. Yeah... I now remember hearing about a similar proposed theory... It was suggested, that people may not actually SEE spirits, with their eyes, in front of them... this could partially explain why there are such few photographs of ghosts... But that the ghost may be communicating directly with our brains, and we THINK we see the spirit actually standing there... Could also be why other people may not see the spirit when standing next to others who do... If that is partly true... then communicating with foreign spirits, may not really be an issue... The spirit may be reading our thoughts, pictures in our mind (if you like), and know what we are trying to say... A dog still looks like a dog, not matter what it is called in any language.
