Hollywood keeps remaking every horror film, I'm surprised they haven't gotten to that one. Dunno who could play Burt Gummer, maybe Steven Ogg?

Well they kinda have with all those sequels.
But anyway, no I wouldn't watch it. Tremors is a perfect movie, there's no reason to mess with it.

No. I would like a sequel with Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward reunited though Isn't Ward almost 80? Kevin Bacon is actually older now than Ward was in the first one, if they came back it would pretty much just be as "mentors" (which is pretty much what Ward was in the 2nd one)

No, because in order to top the first movie they would have to up the ante on violence and gore and add a few sex scenes to keep the 3-second attention span crowd happy. Maybe mutate the slugs so they can leap out of the ground and fly through the air to gobble up any half nude women fleeing down the road.
Am I cynical about Hollywood sequels?

Given how most remakes/reboots made today end up being woke garbage. No.

No, I've long been done with all these commissioned remakes by no-name executives and producers (hiring yes-men directors) of all my favourite North American horror movies from the '60s, '70s & '80s. I'll stick with the originals all day long. A wholly unnecessary remake of 'Tremors' (1990) sounds to me like they're ready to royally plunder the '90s' now.

Easily. "Tremors" is far from being a great movie. It's fun value was marred by poor writing, because the characters are too stereotypical and too Hollywood formula macho men. There were way too many unrelatable aspects to the characters in the first movie. They were supposed to be "Everyman" types, but they were too perfect for what they were designated to be.
"Tremors" is tailor made to be remade. Improvement is almost sure with any change in the program.
It won't be like remakes of the classics (War of the Worlds, Flight of the Phoenix, The Day the World Stood Still, Clash of the Titans, Thunderball) because those were about perfect, and the attempts to redo them failed because the new writing totally annihilated them, so their remakes were horrible. I don't think I'll get a lot of flack for saying those remakes were stinkers, in my view anywhere from 1/10 to 3/10 failures in remaking movies that were 8/10 to 10/10.

No, it wouldn't be the same without the chemistry of the original cast which is a large part of the original's appeal.

I don't think it should get a remake but I'll probably watch it out of completest sake.
