The movie turned 30 in August and I didn't get the chance to cover it, but with Halloween coming up, as well as that Chucky TV show premiering on Syfy very soon, I figure it's a good time to rectify that. I know a lot of people consider this the worst Child's Play film, but I think it's kind of entertaining as long as you're not too demanding. I won't say it's a great film in any way, or the best Child's Play film/sequel, or some misunderstood film, but like with the previous film, it has it's share of memorable scenes, lines, etc. I think the military school gives the film some flavor although it's ridiculous for an amusement park to be out in the middle of the woods with nothing surrounding it. A little surprised to see Andrew Robinson in a movie like this, but a paycheck is a paycheck. Brad Dourif once again plays Chucky with maniacal glee even though he's spouts more one-liners than before compared to the previous films. "Just think, Chucky's gonna be a bro!" Leonard Maltin Movie Guide Review: Child's Play 3 (1991) - BOMB out of 4 stars
"It's been eight years since Chucky first terrorized young Andy Barclay (Whalin), and now the kid is a screwed-up loner of 16 in a military school; to make things worse, the prez of the Play Pals Toy Company is about to put the "C" doll back into production. An amusement park finale is desperately contrived, even by the standards of this junk. Followed by BRIDE OF CHUCKY."

Released less then a year after Child’s Play 2. Inferior to the previous movies. Chucky might be at his nastiest here, slashing throats, crushing people in garage trucks, and just giving heart attacks.

Child's Play 3 crossover review feat. Phelous and Nostalgia Critic. This was back when they were on talking terms.

Never cared for it. For me, this was the point where the series lost its appeal. The idea of Chucky returning once more to hunt down a now adolescent Andy didn't hold the same allure. Having him hunt a defenceless kid was one of the things that made this series stand out from generic slashers of the period and their emphasis on teen victims. Neither did I care for the military school setting. Just compare it to the toy factory in 2, for example.
The film's main saving grave for me was Brad Dourif's phenomenal voice acting.

It’s okay, was a step down from the first two

Not quite as good as the original, but I've always really enjoyed it. I think the military school setting is interesting a nice change of pace. I can see being disappointed by it, but I think calling it the worst in the series is absurd. Seed of Chucky is considerably weaker, at least in my opinion.

Not as good as the first two, but underrated. I like the military setting and Chucky has some of his best moments in this film.

I could never get into any of the Child’s Play movies. They’re really frustrating and difficult for me to enjoy, on the count of how stupid and assholish the characters are. Child's Play 3 crossover review feat. Phelous and Nostalgia Critic. This was back when they were on talking terms.
Didn't know they weren't on speaking terms. DId they get into a spat? Most of the former Channel Awesome contributors don’t seem to have the highest opinion of Doug Walker.

I don't mind it, still better than "Bride of Chucky".

From my understanding, she doesn’t outright despise Doug like some other former contributors, but she’s very negative about her time with Channel Awesome in general, and is outright ashamed of her Nostalgia Chick videos.

Really? I thought she was one of the better content creators on CA.

Hardcore. He's only still tight with Cinema Snob it seems. Man what did he do? I didn't really keep up with the Channel Awesome drama, so I' in the loop. I know one of the guys (Jewarrio) killed himself. Doesn't seem like he did much of anything, which is part of their problem. The guy who ran Channel Awesome is by all accounts a dick boss, and they're mad at Doug for not using his power as the site's star to rein him in. They also hold a grudge over that time Doug "retired" Nostalgia Critic. The other creators didn't get much notice, and the site took a dive without that character. As for Lindsay, now that she's a mature video essayist, she also openly looks down on Doug and that whole style of reviewing, calling it "toxic", "smug", "lazy", and outright "bad content". Jewwario was apparently a sexual predator. CA fired him when they found out. Seems pretty reasonable, but a lot of the Change the Channel drama was former content creators weaponizing anything they could against the site.
