Never heard of him.

Never heard of him. But it’s nice to know that Adam Warlocker is coming in Vol 3. He's been stuff like Detroit, The Revenant, the Maze Runner movies, Midsommar, and he was the dumb kid from We're the Millers. I think he was overlooked by the Academy for his performance in Detroit.

From the few movies I've watched of this guy... I completely don't see it. I hope he'll prove me wrong, but at the moment this seems like a pretty horrible casting choice.

Actually I've seen a recent photo of him with longer hair and it could work.

Will Poulter has been cast!
Ok, I hate to be that guy, but... In the comics, Captain Marvel (the 1st Marvel, male version) and Warlock are the two characters who first meet and defy Thanos. There's also a more significant version of Drax, aka the destroyer, in the mix. These are great and titanic stories that set the foundation for everything "cosmic" in the Marvel universe. Truly classic tales (all written and drawn by the great Jim Starlin - look them up). So, it was disappointing when the MCU decided to turn Drax into a 2nd rate sidekick for laughs, and disregarded Captain Marvel in favor for the current female version, and left Warlock out altogether. As much as I enjoyed the MCU Infinity movies I always felt as if they were telling only half the story by leaving those central characters out. And now this. www.inverse.com/entertainment/adam-warlock-guardians-of-the-galaxy-3-will-poulterI just don't see superhero in my head when I think Will Poulter. He was excellent in Detroit, and he seems to be a fine actor. But he must be cast right to get mileage out of him. You cant just cast him in ANY thing. At this point all I can say is that I hope he beefs up, and that he proves me wrong. Congratulations and good luck to Mr. Poulter.

Kumail Nanjiani would prove that's not true. And Chris Prat. And Christopher Reeve. And every other actor who's ever bulked up for a role.

Will Poulter discusses his physical transformation for the part in an interview:
“It’s been a lot of gym work and a very, very specific diet. It means not particularly civilized at times. Quantities of food you wouldn’t necessarily want to ingest. And other times not enough food. I’ve gone through a series of different diets over the last few months. Now I’m in a maintenance phase, which is quite nice. I’m not eating copious amounts of food to bulk, and I’m not cutting. I’m just maintaining my weight. I’ve gone through periods of looking at food and feeling like I can’t face it, and then you blink and the next minute you’re ready to eat furniture because you’re so hungry.”

Maybe he'll appear in that Nova project. “I don’t know. I honestly don’t know what’s in store for me. I’m waiting to find out, and that’s the honest truth, but, needless to say, I’d love to sort of go on a journey with that character.”

In an interview with Collider, Poulter was asked how the possibility of continuing the character over multiple years and projects impacted his decision to take on the role. Poulter said he is not sure what his future in the MCU is beyond Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. He did say taking on the role comes with a certain level of commitment and that he is grateful to have the role. Read Poulter's full quote below: "Sure. Yeah, you do have to entertain that possibility. The truth is, I don’t actually know what the future holds for me, regarding the character. Certainly, it comes with a certain level of commitment that requires consideration, but obviously, I’m very grateful to have been given the role."

Will Poulter on Adam Warlock's future in the MCU:
"I really hope so dude. I don't honestly know what the plan is and I mean that is hand on heart you know the truth... Hand on heart don't know the plan ... For all of us in the cast, the first time what we saw what was debuted... the footage that was debuted at Comic-Con, the first time that we saw that was backstage about two minutes before we went on stage and that kind of just exemplifies the level of secrecy around all things relate to Marvel. I didn't see a script until a couple of weeks before I went on set long after I sort of commenced the role or whatever. So genuinely, secrecy really is quite kind of a big thing with all things Marvel. I don't know what the plan is but I'd be honored to play Adam Warlock again and I really hope to get that chance. I'm desperate to work with James again. I'm desperate to work with all of my castmates. One of the nicest, most welcoming kind of groups I've ever had the pleasure of being in the company of, so I just had my fingers crossed."
