Lux is a strange and fascinating creature. Observing it operate on its single brain cell or is something wholly unique. Sal you're a brainless slug. The fact that you can relate to a dyslexic idiot who doesn't know what a forum for discussion is should come as no surprise to anyone. sdrew has been one of my favorite members since I’ve been active on here, we both have similar movie tastes and your mom in common. Don’t feel bad though, you’re also one of my favorite members.

I could call your mother a dirtier toilet than most but it gets boring after a while. Enjoy your Dune movie.

Enjoy your Dune movie. Probably won’t get similar treatment, but I’d like a truce as well. I was an immature asshole to you, no matter how much you angered me. Not proud of any of it. We don’t have to agree, but being civil would be great. You have some nice things to say every once in awhile. And, again, my apologies. I was out of line and I feel kinda bad.

I always look back on past posts and cringe and after my first negative interaction with lux I sent him a dm apologizing, which he made fun of publicly a few days later. I prefer not having the internet as an outlet to being an angry dick which is why I’m not on any social media, just better things to do.

I'm really excited for this new Batman movie, that Catwoman is getting so much attention/screentime by the looks of things, that it looks a bit like a comic book (I'm sorry, the Keaton/Burton Batman movies just set my standards for comic book movies, I'm an 80s kid, I can't help it), and they seem to have an awesome Alfred. I'm in!

The more I see of Pattinson the more I realize how much I didn't really care for Bale's Batman. And as far as Affleck goes...this could've been him. He had his chance to write, direct and star, but he blew it. I'm really going all in on this one.

Not sure what your obsession with Pattinson is and while I don't understand the dislike for Robert's version of Batman besides it being Batman Begins lite, that's not to say that you're not creeping me out either.

Bale remains my favorite and I do actually quite like Affleck's incarnation. I wish we got his solo outing but it is what it is.

In an interview he said he's disappointed in his performance in the trilogy. I find this highly ironic because I actually thought he was the best Bruce Wayne we've had. The Batvoice was terrible, I won't argue that. But overall I enjoyed Bale's performance. And for the record, Batman is the only good thing in BvS. Sure it isn't your Batman or my Batman, but they did something interesting with the character. He was a straight up villain until the very end. If it wasn't Batman he would've gone down as one of the great movie villains of all time. (Which isn't what they were going for, and not what people want from Batman, but hey.) This movie doesn't impress me. It doesn't look bad, it just looks like somebody yet again trying to make Batman even darker and grittier. Sooner or later it's going to become a grindhouse horror franchise. Not sure why Batman has become the Punisher over the years, but if they're going to embrace the psychosis they should go whole hog like they did in BvS.

I didn't get the sense that Affleck's Batman was a straight up villain in BVS it was narratively clear why he hated Superman. Agreed, it was narratively clear he was a lunatic. "...if we believe there's even a one percent chance that he is our enemy we have to take it as an absolute certainty... and we have to destroy him." Definitely sounds like a hero. "I bet your parents taught you that you mean something, that you're here for a reason. My parents taught me a different lesson, dying in the gutter for no reason at all... They taught me the world only makes sense if you force it to." Holy shit! He's admitting Superman is a hero here, he just doesn't care. If he truly thought Supes was a villain, he'd be telling him he stopped his evil plan or whatever. Instead he's essentially saying, "You think you're better than me? F-ck you." I've talked at length about how great Bruce is in this film. He's out of his mind. He didn't become Batman to avenge his parents' death or bring justice to the world; he did it because he was never going to be put in a situation that was out of his control again. It's right there in the text. The look on his face after the opening, as he glares at the sky amidst the ruins of Metropolis. He isn't worried for survivors, or upset about the lives lost. He's pissed. He was in control, he forced this world to make sense. Then came a space god he could not control. Superman had to die, it was the only way Bruce could maintain control of his little world. And he tells him as much right before he tries to kill him.

That's still not a "straight up villain" note how I didn't want him awarded a Nobel peace prize in my comment. I admit he was deeply troubled that doesn't make him a straight up villain as you've said yourself he saw a being from another world that he had no idea existed. I didn't say BVS was Bruce's best moment.

Tomato, tomahto. And yeah, BvS Bruce isn't everyone's cup of tea. Personally, I think he's a lot of fun in an elseworlds kind of way. I just don't need every iteration of the character to be three shades darker and more brutal than the previous.
