Oh God had Cam Newton done this he would have been killed. I loved prime Cam while most seemed to hate him. Like I said before, the Packers vs Bears rivalry just means more than outsiders could understand. Pats vs Bills does it really matter? The Packers vs Bears rivalry is 100 years old and to people here it just means something different. I compared it to college. Think of the Iron Bowl with Auburn and Alabama. Has either team always been good? No. However when one beats the other its a big deal. It's not as "pointless" as you say. It's just simply a rivalry moment that I think college fans would understand. Its crazy to see a QB do this. They're normally cliche as fuck. Teammates would rally to this imo. This is worth examining. It's too strange (and it went on too long) not to be premeditated. I didn't understand the purpose other than to galvanize the team. I still don't see the point because it isn't as if the Packers are struggling. And yeah I see the old school rivalry thing being bigger with the Bears/Packers from their perspective. It doesn't seem like much of a rivalry, but I'm not involved so I wouldn't know. I still hate the Jets even though the Patriots have mostly owned them for 20 years. I still would've thought it was bizarre for Brady to yell "I own you!" to the Jets crowd, but hey. It definitely depends on the athlete. I think most of the fans and media (outside of Chicago at least) have gotten a real kick out of this because it's Rodgers. Cam is a classic example of a guy who would've been almost universally roasted as being smug and arrogant in an identical scenario. I'm not a debate person. I respect you for giving an option without calling someone stupid. I dont want to debate. Thats not me. Cam got insane hate for shit Peyton did before him. The talk shows pick and choose what to discuss with nobody calling them out on bullshit. |

Rodgers as he stated on the PMS simply responded to a ton of fans giving him middle fingers and talking shit. He said that he thinks that fans that buy tickets deserve to say what they want but when an athlete yells back dont be a victim.
