Hardy's casting is the only good decision for this, outside of that this whole project is just a pointless rights grab and will hurt Sony and Marvel's relationship, and cause confusion - It won't be in the MCU, but it won't have ties to previous Spider-Man entries, yet the character is tied to Spider-Man. SMH.

Hell, the only reason they agreed to share Spider-Man with Marvel in the first place was because The Amazing Spider-Man 2 underperformed.

the interesting part is Hardy's attachment, I mean it's Tom Hardy.
the director.............ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh idk, Zombieland was fun, but his next two films were kind of vapid.

I didn't care until I saw that Hardy was the lead. He seems to pick good projects. Hopefully he's not just sniffing a big pay day, but then again who could blame him if he was?

It's really kinda funny. Sony is still trying to revive their own Marvel Universe now they're even calling it the Sony Marvel Universe.
I can't wait for the Venom movie to fail and Sony finally realizes that all Spider Man characters belong in the MCU. We should boycott the Venom movie so that it flops and MCU gets full control of Spider Man.

Tom Hardy is an awesome choice. But I don't see the point of this movie, really. Venom doesn't appeal to me enough for me to be excited for this movie. If they wanted to run a proper symbiote story in the current Spider-Man films, and have that lead into a proper Venom as an antagonist, I might look forward to that.

I have no clue how this movie is going to work without Spider-Man as Spider-Man is essential to Venom's origin. Are they going to skip the origin? Because I personally wouldn't mind that at all. I just have no clue what this movie is really going to be. I'm assuming that it's gonna be Venom vs Carnage in some way shape or form which I'd watch. I'm just not entirely sure how the film will be as a whole and I don't really have high hopes for it. I feel no way in regards to Tom Hardy as Venom. He's fine I guess, I don't hate it or love it.

I have the feeling they will use the Ultimate version as source Material. Where the Venom suit was genetically created.

Going to see a movie about Venom is like going to see a movie about Peter Parker's socks - and the guy who stole them.
