Think about it for just a moment.
HBO Max gives you access to the entire HBO library.
Sopranos OZ Deadwood True Blood The Wire Mare of Easttown True Detective Six Feet Under Game of Thrones Boardwalk Empire Arliss Sex and the City Band of Brothers Chernobyl
So on and so forth.
Not to mention Turner Classic Movies, Studio Ghibli, HBO movies, EVERYTHING DC (live action, animated, animated series, etc…), Cartoon Network…
With Disney+ you have the Disney Library. But that’s not everyone’s thing. Most people own their favorite Disney films.
Star Wars. Again, most Star Wars fans own their favorite Star Wars films.
I guess the only thing it has over HBO Max is the Marvel collection and The Mandalorian.
I am looking at the original Disney+ content and comparing it to HBOs upcoming original content…
I really believe HBO has the lasting power. Disney is more geared towards family friendly, which helps them. However, Is there really a comparison in content?

Doesn't Disney+ also have a whole bunch of Fox movies/TV shows?

Doesn't Disney+ also have a whole bunch of Fox movies/TV shows? But still. It’s no comparison to the stable of HBO content. Plus, Disney+ rotates the Fox content. On and off the streaming service. HBO’s content is a constant. It doesn’t come and go.

I just wish HBO Max would restore the expand-screen/full screen option. Most of the movies are too narrow to watch on an IPad.

I like a lot of Disney channel shows and Disney channel original movies so I can't agree. Of all the shows you listed on HBO I only like True Blood.

Can't get HBO Max in my part of the world sadly. I do own a couple of the HBO shows you listed on DVD, but can't be streamed here.
I'm very fond of Disney+ though. It has the entire catalogue of animated and live-action Disney movies from Snow White to Cruella, a large selection of TV shows and a decent selection of more adult-oriented content. Fantastic value for money.

I agree, I actually prefer it to every other streaming service. I’ve paid for hbo max but don’t find any others worth my money, I’ve always just used other people’s and still barely use them. If I had to pick a second it’d be Prime.

I’m about to watch Dune in 4KUD on HBO Max. Free, included in the subscription price.
Disney+ would have charged me 29.99 on top of my subscription price.

If you are looking to watch something as an adult yes HBO Max is vastly superior. However if you got kids and are looking for something for them to watch or for the family to watch together Disney Plus has the edge there.

HBO is pulling out all the stops in an effort to win the streaming wars. Offering new movies on HBO is an attempt to solidify their place and be one of the last standing. Disney doesn't have to do that. They know they will be one of the last standing, so if they charge $30 for a new movie it doesn't matter. People are still going to stay subscribed. I sort of admire how hard HBO is trying. They are making a real push to be one of the top streaming services on the level of Netflix and Disney.

They’re both at least better than Paramount+.

HBO Max is vastly superior to Disney+
Not until it's made available outside the US it ain't. I'll have to take your word for it, though I'd prefer to see for myself.

Well i assume that HBO max is better for adults and Disney+ is better for children.
Now i will complain about a first world problem that nobody cares about.
They are changing from HBO Nordic to HBO max in Norway on the 26 of October. Which is good but i kind of would have preferred if it was 4 of November (last episode of season 2 is on the 2 of November which means the last episode would be on HBO Nordic on the 3 of November). It seems like Stargirl is not on HBO max but its on HBO Nordic. Which means that i will not get to see the last two episodes of season 2 until the show is out on DVD.
I mean its not the end of the world i just have to wait a little longer to watch the last two episodes or hope that Stargirl will be on HBO max but as far as i can see its not.
Hopefully season 2 DVD will be out before the end of the year.
I did use to subscribe to disney+ but that was just to watch WandaVision and Ducktales. i will probably subscribe again to disney+ when season 3 of Ducktales is available.

I do agree the HBO shows are worth it alone. The app navigates pretty terribly tho. I never realized how odd and convoluted streaming services are until someone pointed it out to me. It’s like even if you know what you want to watch it still takes 20 minutes to find it.
I don’t have Disney Plus but maybe in a few years they’ll catch up.
