If you have an old vcr, and when you eject the tape it gets stuck every time. Because part of the tape is stuck on something inside the vcr... then there's no hope of fixing it ever? Then you gotta take the lid off vcr and lift up film from the tape manually and remove vcr tape .
But it's ok cuz there's thousands of used vcrs out in the wild.

Yeah but not all VCRs have the same mechanism. It could be because the rubber wheel that drives the reels has lost traction or the drives belts have lost their tension and became loose. One reel is still turning and feeding more video tape while the other has stopped. Creating a tangled bunch. This tends to be the cause of the tape being eaten.
