Witch: Hermione Granger from Prisoner of Azkaban 2004 She had time travel in that one. You're already making me regret this decision. I never would have questioned it had it not been for sdm3. So suck it haha

Monster Hunter, solo - Van Helsing (2004) The movie sucks, but he's the monster hunter. Plus, Hugh Jackman. Badass. It does. What a wasted opportunity. It's a great basis for a big budget action movie, and you've got Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale in the lead roles. How do you fuck that up?

It's a great basis for a big budget action movie, and you've got Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale in the lead roles. How do you fuck that up? The entire thing was filmed on a greenscreen and it shows. The soundtrack is constantly blaring and it doesn't suit the material at all. They never decided on a tone. Frankenstein's monster is the most compelling character in the story while Dracula is completely over the top. It's a mess from top to bottom. And if it's supposed to set up a franchise (which surely it was), why are you cramming so many of the classic monsters into the first film? It's a total disaster, and as you said, such wasted potential.

Huzzah!!
For revenant, I'm going to take Brayker, William's Salder's character from the quite fun first Tales From the Crypt movie, Demon Knight (1995).
Slasher: Freddy Krueger (ANOES 1984) Beast: Jaws (Jaws 1975) Serial Killer: John Doe (Seven 1995) Monster Hunters: The Monster Squad (The Monster Squad 1987) Creature: Brundle Fly (The Fly 1986) Creature (small): Krites (Critters, 1986) Zombies - Return of the Living Dead (1986) Demon - Lead Cenobite (Hellraiser, 1987) Cult - Thuggees (Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, 1984) Witch - Madame Blanc/Helena Markos (Suspiria, 2018) Possessed Thing - Christine (1983) Evil Genius - The Tall Man from Phantasm (1979) Monster Hunter, Solo - Constantine (2005) Alien - The alien from Slither (2006) Revenant - Brayker (Demon Knight 1995)

Nobody is going to take the vampires or werewolves from Twilight? I guess those are more for the fantasy draft?
We should set this up so that if someone breaks the rules, they get assigned a garbage pick. Like if you don't wait the hour, or if not enough people pick after you before your subsequent pick, or if you're just an annoying twat, you get assigned someone terrible, unilaterally selected by our esteemed commissioner.

Friendly freaks - Edward Scissorhands (1990) I was saving it, but I'm gonna take this one now since you've encroached on the same territory: Friendly Freaks: The citizens of Halloweentown from The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) Pretty much the very definition of this category.

Witch - God played by Alanis Morissette in Dogma (1999)
Take that bitches, I win.
Kidding.
Witch - Muriel (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, 2013) This movie is hilarious fun if you haven't seen it. I'm surprised it exists; or at least I'm surprised it had the budget it had and stars Jeremy Renner.
And no, you can't choose God.

And for the record, if there was a category for theme song like we had for the action movie draft, This is Halloween from the Nightmare Before Christmas would be my choice if Sdm didn't get there first. But I'd also have tons of backup choices. My Halloween Party Playlist that I've been putting together is like 3 and half hours long already and I've only been compiling it for a couple of days.

There were a few categories that didn't make the cut because I wanted the draft to be finished before Halloween and not require a million picks a day. Theme song was one, 'spiritual advisor' was another. It was similar to the 'sidekick' category in the action draft, but I figured anyone that fit into that category could end up in the monster hunter or friendly freaks category anyway. This is what happens when I wait until the last minute. If anyone else wants to add a theme song, have at it.
