Here's a topic that I think needs more love. Melodies get lots of attention, but the words...not so much--so this game will attempt to correct that neglect. Any song lyrics (of no more than twenty lines, please), from any genre--from country to hip-hop to opera--may be used in this game, with the following exceptions: 1. No lyrics promoting racism, antisemitism, or other bigotry; 2. No non-English language lyrics, unless translations are provided; 3. No outright obscenities (innuendoes, however, are fine ). Oh, and one more thing: please provide the lyricist's name, if known. Entries by that immortal wordsmith, Anonymous, are also acceptable. 13 LYRICS ABOUT MUSICIANS (Vocalists and Instrumentalists) 01. Sing us a song You're the Piano man Sing us a song tonight Well we're all in a mood for a melody And you've got us feelin' all right "Piano Man" - (music and lyrics, Billy Joel)

With my little ukulele in my hand, of course the people do not understand Some say why don’t you be a scout, why don’t you read a book? But I get lots more pleasure when I’m playing with my uke. Of course I take no notice you can tell For mother’s sound advice will always stand. She said "My boy do what I say and you’ll never go astray If you keep your ukulele in your hand, yes son Keep your ukulele in your hand."

The Devil bowed his head because he knew that he'd been beat. And he laid that golden fiddle on the ground at Johnny's feet. Johnny said, "Devil, just come on back, if you ever wanna try again, I done told you once, you son of a b****, I'm the best that's ever been." 02. Our little boy is four years old and quite a little man So we spell out the words we don't want him to understand Like T-O-Y or maybe S-U-R-P-R-I-S-E But the words we're hiding from him now Tears the heart right out of me. Our D-I-V-O-R-C-E becomes final today Me and little J-O-E will be goin' away I love you both and it will be pure H-E double L for me Oh, I wish that we could stop this D-I-V-O-R-C-E.

13 Song Lyrics About Unhappy/Unsuccessful Relationships
01. "We Just Disagree" So let's leave it alone 'Cause we can't see eye-to-eye There ain't no good guy; there ain't no bad guy There's only you and me And we just disagree (Written by Jim Krueger, performed by Dave Mason)
02."D-I-V-O-R-C-E".- Tammy Wynette.
03. "It's a Heartache" 'It's a fool's game Nothing but a fools game Standing in the cold rain Feeling like a clown It's a heartache Nothing but a heartache Love him 'til your arms break Then he lets you down It ain't right with love to share When you find he doesn't care for you It ain't wise to need someone As much as I depended on you' (Written by Steve Wolfe / Ronnie James Scott, performed by Bonnie Tyler)
04. "After you've gone" After you've gone there's no denyin' You're gonna feel blue, and you're gonna feel sad You're gonna feel bad And you'll miss, and you'll miss, And you'll miss the bestest pal you ever had There'll come a time, now don't forget it There'll come a time when you'll regret it But baby, think what you're doin' I'm gonna haunt you so, I'm gonna taunt you so It's gonna drive you to ruin After you've gone, after you've gone away. (Lyrics by Henry Creamer, performed by many)

Remember when you held me tight And you kissed me all through the night Think of all that we've been through And breaking up is hard to do
They say that breaking up is hard to do Now I know I know that it's true Don't say that this is the end Instead of breaking up I wish that we were making up again (Words and Music by Neil Sedaka and Howard Greenfield)
