It's not dumb but it's a lot of fun. Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky. Stop whatever you're doing and go watch it right now.

Animal House
The Bank Dick (WC Fields)

Even if you're not into stoner comedies, Dave Chappelle is hilarious in Half Baked (1998). Of course, you always have the classic that is Airplane! (1980).

Has anyone here recommended Congo ('95), one of my favorite pictures? Incredibly goofy, but absolutely sublime in its goofiness, with a pitch-perfect, Gable-esque performance from the great Ernie Hudson.

My immediate thought was The 'Burbs but several people already mentioned it so never mind !
Most of the Bette Midler comedies are pretty mindless fun. Outrageous Fortune -- with Shelley Long rises to the top of the pack Big Business - Two sets of twins - Lily Tomlin Ruthless People Danny DeVito
also good Nine to Five, Twins (Ahnuld and DeVito as twins (really), Kindergarten Cop , Last Action Hero
