Greatest: Technological advances/music.
Worst: Without a doubt, war. Yeah, animals fight, but not with weapons, let alone extremely destructive ones.

Worst: Nuclear weapons. If all out nuclear war broke out the human race would be over. If not over those who lived would wish they were dead. Greatest: Electric Light. Flip a switch and you can see.

You can't hug children with nuclear arms.
Best: I'd say writing and printing.

Money is probably one of the worst. I mean there is the saying "money is the root of all evil."

Best and Worst: The Internet That and cellphones ! Actually, cellphones are not too bad... It's the smartphones that are the real problem... People constantly staring into electronic bricks all damned day... I've lost track as to know how many times, people have almost bumped into me, while I'm shopping in the stores because they were staring into a smartphone while they are roaming about... And you know some people who are driving their cars are staring into them, and texting too... PUT THE SMARTPHONES DOWN, AND WATCH WHERE YOU ARE GOING, DAMN IT! It really isn't about greatest and worst inventions... it's about how they are used.

Best and Worst: The Internet I agree. Of course like others on here have said, its how its used that decides whether its good or bad, but how many other inventions out there can take as disturbing a turn as the internet can? You can be looking at something innocent or mundane, and then you click on a pop-up by mistake and you're treated to something messed up like bestiality porn, or have your computer infected with a virus, or even get your personal details hacked. Just like that!

Money is probably one of the worst. I mean there is the saying "money is the root of all evil." The actual saying is the love of money is the root of all evil. Money is not evil in itself, but it's what people do with and how they try to obtain more of it is what's really evil.

No, by it's very nature money encourages the hording of wealth and subjugation by one class of another.
It allows for a phony manipulation of value applied arbitrarily to certain goods and activities which has no basis in reality. The whole system of finance through money is a house of cards.

Nuclear weapons are a hard choice to argue with but they wouldn't get far without jets or rockets to move them around expediently.

Nuclear weapons are a hard choice to argue with but they wouldn't get far without jets or rockets to move them around expediently. Good point. But jets and rockets have a positive use independently. Nuclear fission is a necessary source of energy. I'm just saying turning nuclear fission into bombs is by itself the worst invention, even if it was unavoidable.
We might also ask if it was necessary for the U.S. to drop atomic bombs on Japan to end World War II. The U.S. Government obviously didn't believe nuclear bombs were the worst invention. That's the problem.

Because people choose to love money over others. You don't have to hoard wealth and subjugate others to have enough to live comfortably. The desire to have more is what leads to so much evil.
