Grease musical scrapped at schools in Australia

Grease has always been a thing of controversy, if you've ever seen a staging of the original production or even just videos of it, its very Hard-R with tons more sexuality and foul language. It was toned down majorly for the movie and stage productions that followed, but it still boils down to a teen sex comedy and was controversial with Christian groups. The controversy surrounding sexism in the third act is just misinterpreting the movie. In the movie/show Danny and Sandy are meant to be together, whether you buy into their short romance or not. The point of the end isn't that Sandy becomes a greaser to impress Danny, or that Danny becomes a jock to win Sandy over. Their relationship is on the rocks, and they miss each other and this is how the movie shows how they miss each other, they begin dressing like each other, they're peacocking each other for attention. Sandy hasn't transformed into anything, they show that she's faking when she tries to smoke cigarettes, Danny on the other hand just looks like a dork. He strips off the dork sweater because she's clearly upstaged him. This is a case of woke-culture being on the spectrum and not understanding what a movie is actually doing.
