www.empireonline.com/movies/features/best-movies-2/I will list a few peculiar and interesting selections in this list rather than the entire 100. 100) Reservoir Dogs 95) Donnie Darko 91) Logan 90) The Terminator 88) Titanic 86) Black Panther 83) Thor: Ragnarok 69) Inglourious Basterds 63) Get Out 62) Lawrence Of Arabia 59) Moonlight 58) Guardians Of The Galaxy 56) The Social Network 53) Forrest Gump 52) Point Break 50) Vertigo 42) 12 Angry Men 40) Citizen Kane 37) Se7en 31) Interstellar 28) Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade 18) Parasite 14) The Godfather Part II 11) Star Wars 8) Avengers: Infinity War 5) The Shawshank Redemption 4) The Dark Knight 3) The Godfather 2) Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back 1) The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring So this list was comprised from results of readers votes combined with Team Empires critic's choices. On the whole I think its pretty reasonable. There are a few blatant oddities. Parasite in the top 20 greatest movies of all time is laughable. Infinity War being top 10 is just regency bias imo. Only 3 films from 1940's, 5 films from 1950's and 23 films from 2010s.

A few first impressions starting with #1.
#1 The Fellowship of the Ring was the best of the three before they became a travesty. Best ever? I don’t think so.
#4 The Dark Knight. I wouldn’t have TDK on any list of good movies.
#5 The Shawshank Redemption. What I said about The Dark Knight.
Several Titles: No superhero movies for me.
#50 Vertigo. #1 on my list. Should be much higher.
#52 Point Break. Entertaining but…only 51 movies in 125 years are better? Seriously?
#91 Logan. I actually detest this movie. Don’t get me started on why.

Was this list created by IMDB voters?

You forgot to mention A Quiet Place at 75. 75! It really can't be understated how much that list sucks. Even pimply faced 14 year olds from imdb should know Point Break is only a good movie ironically. The poor son of a bitch who had to write the justifications for these entries could hardly go a sentence without sarcastically making fun of it.

A lot of good movies, but some I would not consider the greatest ever made even though I like them.

Frankly, most any top 100 without Stand By Me isn't for me.

Lists are subjective but come we know the real reason Black Panther is in there Because everyone thinks comic book movies are great cinema when they are merely solid entertainment at best and repetitive shallow crap for the most part?

I really need to take the time to peruse this list in detail and see how many of those films I've seen and/or own. A lot of quality movies listed there, though these things are of course hugely subjective and I dare say I'd have included more horror on that list.

Even pimply faced 14 year olds from imdb should know Point Break is only a good movie ironically. The poor son of a bitch who had to write the justifications for these entries could hardly go a sentence without sarcastically making fun of it. Theyve stated that they encouraged voters to include, " films that comfort, challenge and pioneer. Films that blow your mind, help you see things from a new perspective, and that continue to shape cinema as we know it today. Films that make you feel something. They offer plots that twist and turn, give us characters that we fall in love with, depict experiences that change us, and thrill us with incredible filmmaking craft" Im no big fan of Point Break but it is a weirdly cult following film from the early 90s that many people remember for its message of anti capitalism, pro surfer bro freedom I guess? Perhaps people just loved the idea the movie conveyed and enjoyed the opposing duality of the 2 main leads.

One reason might be Empire is a UK magazine and Reservoir Dogs was massive in the UK. It made more money in London than it did in the whole USA., and wormed its way into popular culture pretty quickly Tarantino was pretty much the John Carpenter of his day!

It's got some of the usual suspects in the top 10, other than that it's so random.
