Or you just don't like as much?

Catman has never seen a Coen brothers film.

In a filmography full of classics, The Ladykillers sticks out like a sore thumb.

Their remake of The Ladykillers is pretty bad. I liked seeing Tom Hanks play a rascally scoundrel like his character in the movie, but as a whole it doesn't feel like their style of humor. Also I wasn't a fan of The Hudsucker Proxy although I'll give high praise to Jennifer Jason-Leigh and its visual style.

Their two unnecessary remakes: The Ladykillers and True Grit

I've enjoyed all the Coen films I've seen so far, here's how I would rank them:
Fargo No Country For Old Men True Grit Big Lebowski Arizona

I will watch it again to be sure, but I got almost nothing from Hail, Caesar! (2016).
For me personally, the Coen Bros have a pretty strong track record. I haven't seen em all, but I've seen a) many, and b) enough to be confident in a Coen Bros pick. I like them.

Yeah, lotta fart jokes in that one. And Marlon Wayans being Marlon Wayans... Lowest common denominator stuff, which has its place, but I don't think they really knew how to do it. Otherwise, not a big fan of O Brother. Intolerable Cruelty is pretty forgettable, but I don't remember really disliking it.

I more or less like every Coen brothers movie so far, but Intolerable Cruelty, The Ladykillers and Burn After Reading are my least favorite.
I would need to re-watch O Brother, Where Art Though?, but I didn't care for that movie much. Then again, I have only seen it once and that was 20 years ago.

I'm thinking about rewatching O Brother for the same reason. Plus I was younger so I probably missed a lot of the humor. I didn't even know it was based on The Odyssey. I liked Burn for the most part, but it wasn't really breaking new ground in the already over-stacked spy comedy genre. And the best character doesn't last long.

I've seen all of their movies (except for The Ballad of Buster Scruggs) and none of them "suck" in my opinion. Now The Ladykillers is their weakest for sure, but even that doesn't suck.

I don't believe I've seen them all, but I've enjoyed the ones I have.
However, it took several goes with FARGO before it finally "clicked", but I've since enjoyed that film and all of the follow-up TV series based upon it.

I don't think the movie flows well and it is visually unappealing imo, but I do think the script is funny. I was annoyed when Brad Pitt's character stops being in it, who I assume is the character you are referring to.

Haven’t seen very many. True Grit was okay. Very forgettable. Hated Burn After Reading. One of the worst movies I have ever seen.
I’ve wanted to see Old Country, but having read the book I know it will be super violent and I am kind of squeamish about that sort of thing. Come to think of it, all of their movies look to be super dark and violent so perhaps they aren’t for me.

The Coens are hit-and-miss for me. I think Fargo is their all-time classic. The one I liked the least was Miller's Crossing; just couldn't get into it for some reason.

I have seen all of them and the weakest ones in my opinion are "The Ladykillers", "Inside Llewyn Davis", and "Hail Caesar". I wouldn't go as far as saying that they "suck" though.

He seems to be giving the same performance in this, O Brother, and Caesar and I don't really care for any of them. Maybe we're supposed to be falling over ourselves because The World's Sexiest Man Alive TM is being bugeyed and whacky, but I just don't care. The movie would be a lot better if it just focused on Pitt, McDormand, and Malkovich.
