It is lots of fun seeing Travolta and Cage play their opposing characters. Ironically, Castor Troy cosplaying as Sean Archer has him a far cooler and attentive father/husband.

Great action flick. The hell happened to John Woo, man?

What ruins both this movie and the Mission Impossible movies for me is the sudden transformation to someone else entirely because you've thrown a mask or face on.

I recently saw 'Paycheck' (2003) for the first time. I thought it was a real mess of a movie. Might have derailed his career in Hollywood which had been going great up until then.

At least Mission Impossible puts those strips on the outside of the throat to manipulate the vocal chords. Face/Off is just dumb imo. Worse action and less logic.

The speedboat ending to Face Off was good I'll admit that but the face plot ruins it.

I think it's too dumb to take seriously and takes itself too seriously to be dumb fun. Someone like Verhoeven probably would have done it better. It's also a shame Cage couldn't play Castor Troy for the whole movie. Instead he gets put on a leash and we have to make do with Travolta's outtakes from Broken Arrow.

I remember watching a making of back before this came out and both actors took particular note of each others walk. They both had a particular way of moving that each other deliberately tried to mimic. I thought it was cool. Also...

Great Action flick, Very 90s over the top fun with both Cage and Travolta overacting but in very entertaining way.

That'd have been better than this movie and Escape Plan combined. But which of them would play the villain? Technically both of them, but probably Ahnie for the main duration. He seemed more open to playing villains, and Sly has/had way too much of an ego to get beaten at the end.

This is such an entertaining/over the top action film that came out in the 90s. Yeah the plot is absurd but Cage & Travolta make it work and their performances were so much fun to watch. It was so refreshing that it wasn't a watered down safe PG-13 big budget blockbuster. They made it as violent, messed up hard R as possible.
Just like The Rock & Con Air, Cage knocked it out of the park in Face/Off as well. Respect
